Here’s why we are considering the hire, despite you having zero experience in healthcare.

You greeted the receptionist with a smile (respectful ✔️).

Didn’t play on your phone while you waited (attentive✔️ ).

And brought 3 clean copies of your resume (organized ✔️).

Throughout the interview you were relaxed, and made eye contact with both me and Courtney.

You asked us about why we began the company and what our core values are.

When asked about experience in healthcare, you replied, “I have none” (honest ✔️).

And immediately shifted to what you could bring to the table (problem solver ✔️)...

-Led teams to complete 100M construction projects on schedule (team player ✔️).

-Managed 25+ vendors (communicator ✔️).

-Created a simple accountability system for all service vendors (creative ✔️).

We also loved that you said “Thank you” to the receptionist before leaving.

More “industry experience” doesn’t guarantee a better fit.

Don’t disqualify a candidate just because they don’t have experience in your specific industry.

Transferable skills are real and valuable.

There’s nothing wrong with someone wanting to start a new chapter in life.
