Her innocent face explains a lot…and it reminds us of the current situation of the girls here in Afghanistan, how hard yet painful it is for them to keep up with their daily lives. I hope our Afghan women & girls, including her, get the chance to learn, educate, work, create and live their lives in peace and harmony.

We finally made it to the top of the Little Pamir, elevation 14,500 ft. Butu settlement

Butu is now in charge of the Kyrgyz community in Little Pamir. He’s trying his best to protect his people and community. He’s a kind hearted man who is really good at hospitality and hosting. He sheltered us and made sure we were warm enough, and provided the best food.
