These trips, and other tailor-made itineraries, are designed for those with limited time and budget w

ho want to experience the true wilds of North East Afghanistan - without the time and expense of organising it themselves. Adventure Wakhan was formed in 2011. It grew out of a responsible tourism research project, looking at the impacts of tourism on communities and the environment of the Wakhan Corridor. The research clearly established that Wakhi and Kyrgyz communities in the region support the development of tourism and are keen to welcome responsible travellers to their unique culture and environment. The research also identified the challenges facing the travel industry in NE Afghanistan and Adventure Wakhan seeks to manage these to allow the industry to develop sustainably and equitably.
