Takht-e Rostam, or the Stupa of Takht-e Rostam, is a Buddhist monastery complex located 2 km south of Haibak, Afghanistan. Constructed in the 3rd-4th century AD during the Kushano-Sasanian Kingdom, this remarkable complex is carved entirely from bedrock. Featuring five chambers, including two sanctuaries, one with a domed ceiling adorned with intricate lotus leaf decoration. Perched on an adjacent hill is the stupa, crowned by a harmika, surrounded by additional rough caves. A serendipitous discovery in one of these caves revealed a hoard of Ghaznavid coins.
