Alicia’s career began in media, where she developed strong communication skills across roles in journalism and production. In 2018, she transitioned to hospitality, bringing her storytelling abilities and event planning expertise to Mill Reef Club, where she has since organized over 200 private events and 14 weddings. 💍✨
Reflecting on her journey, Alicia emphasizes the value of adaptability: “The hospitality industry moves quickly, and being able to adapt is essential to success.” She credits her growth to her mentor Rev. Patrice Simon Appointed President of the Caribbean Society of Hotel Association Executives (CSHAE)! 🎉
We’re proud to announce that Patrice Simon, Executive Director of the Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA), has been appointed President of CSHAE!
Founded by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association(CHTA), CSHAE brings together executives from the 32 National Hotel and Tourism Associations that form CHTA’s core membership across the Caribbean.
Mrs. Simon will lead efforts to strengthen networking, information-sharing, and professional development among the Caribbean’s National Hotel and Tourism Association Executives.
Reflecting on her new role, Mrs. Simon shared, “I am humbled by the opportunity to represent ABHTA and Antigua and Barbuda. Leading my peers across the Caribbean is both a privilege and a tremendous responsibility.”
As Mrs. Simon leads CSHAE forward, she will be supported by incoming Vice President Arlene Friday, CEO of the Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association. Their first sitting together under Mrs. Simon’s presidency will take place at the CHTA CHIEF (Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum) conference, scheduled to be held in Miami from November 18–20, 2024.
Her leadership is widely celebrated, with support from Vanessa Ledesma, CEO of CHTA, and Sanovnik Destang, President of CHTA, who recognize her dedication to people development and tourism innovation.

Antigua and Barbuda tourism officials celebrated the return of Condor Airlines, as the flight from Frankfurt touched down at the V.C. Bird International Airport on November 5, making it the first service from the airline since the COVID-19 pandemic.

To mark the occasion, the Condor flight was welcomed with a ceremonial water cannon salute, followed by disembarking passengers receiving a warm and hospitable greeting from the people of Antigua and Barbuda.

The seasonal service from Frankfurt will run from November 5, 2024, through May 6, 2025, just in time for the winter tourism season.

Antigua and Barbuda Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment, The Honourable Charles Fernandez, expressed excitement about the re-start of the service. “We are thrilled to welcome Condor back for the winter season. The German-speaking market is our second most important European market, and this direct service opens valuable access to Antigua and Barbuda for central European travellers.”

“With the resumption of the connection between Frankfurt and Antigua and Barbuda we offer our guests another great option to enjoy their holiday in this beautiful country. We are delighted to continue our strong partnership with Antigua and Barbuda. The new A330-900neo with the new Business Class is the perfect product for this wonderful destination”, said Oliver Feess, Condor’s Senior Manager Network Planning.

The newly introduced Airbus A330-900, known for its comfort and advanced features, has a capacity of 310 seats, including 30 business class seats and 64 premium economy seats, tailored to meet the preferences of Antigua and Barbuda’s upscale market.
With a total of 27 rotations tagged with Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the new service represents a strategic boost for Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism industry.
