Most tourists traveling to Berat, in the southern hinterland of Albania, limit themselves to visiting the cozy -and amazing- old town and then climbing to the top up to the Castle, an ancient settlement still inhabited today. Indeed, the city is worth a visit. However, having a few more days of travel available allows you to experience unforgettable adventures in the surroundings of what is unanimously considered one of the most beautiful stages in the Balkans. Mosques, monasteries, and canyon adventures. And then, again, traditional and genuine food in the farmhouses of the area, tours through the vineyards, and excursions to Mount Tomorr, the sacred mountain of the country. That's why Berat, alone, is worth a trip to Albania.
