Visit-Gjirokastra, promoting outstanding values of the region

Visit-Gjirokastra is a project aiming to promote the outstanding values of #Gjirokastra region, including the #UNESCO city, Permet, Tepelena, Libohove, Dropull, Kelcyre and Memaliaj. The project will brand Gjirokastra as a tourist destination, to create sustainable tourism with profits for local economies. Visit-Gjirokastra is supported by RisiAlbania, a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), implemented by Helvetas and Partners Albania, in partnership with Ministry of Finance and Economy.

It encompasses a long strategy for developing tourism in the area through involving all local stakeholders. Our country has suffered from the projects that overlap and have a short life, due to lack of inclusion and involvement. We have started differently through creating a board with all local stakeholders. They will move this project forward and see benefits by being united and position Gjirokastra well in the region. Only this way we will create sustainable tourism.
