His figure, often on horseback, can be seen all over .

About ten kilometres northeast of Shkodër we find the Mes Bridge, built in 1780 by order of a local Pasha named Kara Mahmud Bushati to cross the Kir River on a common trade route linking the lands of Montenegro, Skhodër itself and Pristina in Kosovo.
It measures 108 metres, with 13 arches, rising to a height of 14 metres in the middle. There are many Ottoman bridges in the country, but this is undoubtedly the most photogenic one 📸.

Passing the small village of Ilias, a turn to the right leads to the of Saint Theodore.
It was originally built in the 14th century, but was not finished until nearly 500 years later in 1860. Used as a military base during the communist era, it remained abandoned and in ruins for decades. Today, the small monastery has been largely rebuilt and can be visited.
