At Tirana Yoga we are a group of local and international teachers that are dedicated to sharing the practice of yoga here in Albania. Tirana Yoga is one of Tirana’s premiere yoga studios and has been active in Albania for 9 years. Started around 2008, originally as a group of people who shared a love for yoga meeting twice weekly, in September 2011 Tirana Yoga expanded and started offering daily c

lasses in various styles of yoga. All of its current teachers are internationally certified and have completed a minimum of 200-hours of training based on international standards (Yoga Alliance US and Yoga Alliance UK) and have been teaching for a minimum of 3 years. Tirana Yoga is offering yoga classes by quality instructors for beginner and advanced students. Classes are in various styles of yoga including Power Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga Primary Series, Yin Yoga, and Hatha Yoga for Beginners. What we Teach:

Power Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa-style yoga combines a series of flowing postures with rhythmic breathing for an intense body-mind workout. In Vinyasa classes postures are linked together in a continuous and challenging flow and the common thread is a rigorous workout that develops strength and flexibility while keeping students on the move. Classes focus on proper alignment, easeful posture transitions, and controlled breathing exercises (pranayama) to facilitate an exploration into the inner dimensions of yoga and self-awareness. Hatha Beginner
Hatha (sun and moon) yoga is umbrella term that includes all styles of yoga that focus on the postures (asana) as the main emphasis of the class. This includes: Iyengar, Power yoga, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Bikram, etc. Usually, however, when a yoga class is advertised as Hatha yoga, it will be a slower style of asana class, which is good for beginning students. Postures (especially standing postures) are typically held much longer than in other schools of yoga, so that practitioners can pay close attention to the precise muscular and skeletal alignment this system demands. Ashtanga Primary Series
The practice of Asthanga Primary Series that’s getting mainstream attention today is a dynamic, fast-paced series of sequential postures practiced by yoga master K. Pattabhi Jois. Each pose is linked to the next through a series of connecting movements called vinyasa, allowing the body to create heat and leading to more flexibility. Smooth, deep breathing (ujjayi) is synchronized with the movements. This powerful and vigorous practice purifies and realigns the body, cultivating a feeling of inner peace, and leading to a natural state of meditation. Health benefits: Increases blood circulation, helps purify internal organs, removes toxins from the body through sweat glands, and strengthens the cardiovascular system.

Embodiment is dropping down from the busy mind to the feeling body, a state of being where you’re fully present with your senses and emotions. In our fast-paced lives, we often lose track of where the body is in space, of our breathing and sense of grounding. This course invites you to pause, bring conscious awareness to the breath, and move mindfully to rediscover the body’s inner flow.

This course will blend gentle vinyasa flow, somatic yin, pranayama and meditation practices to create immersive experiences that guide you into your own inner flow. We will use breath, movement and sound to experience the world through the soma - the conscious body - and cultivate a sense of wholeness.

This Embodied Yoga journey will build upon three parts:
1.Grounding
2.Being present
3.Listening to the body

Mindfulness Course: Relax and Reconnect

12 March - 2 April (4 sessions)

Tuesdays 8:15-9:15 pm

Do you often find yourself trapped in ruminating and stressful thought patterns? The practice of yoga aims to calm these fluctuations of the mind by returning us to the present moment. While many have practiced dynamic forms of yoga asana (physical postures), this is only one yogic tool for cultivating greater mindfulness. This course will introduce you to other practices that help to quiet mental chatter by consciously shifting our attention to the body, breath, and eventually, our own inner silence. Across the span of 4 weeks, we will learn to combine breathwork, meditation, yin yoga, and yoga nidra as well as introduce some of the theory behind it so that you leave the course with a greater capacity for mindfulness and presence.

Cost: 4000 LEKE/Course (4 sessions; no transfers possible if sessions missed)
