The St. Mary church is an eastern orthodox cave church on the island of Maligrad, in the Albanian part of Prespa lake.

Built in the 14th century and considered now a cultural monument, the only way to reach the church is by boat trip on the waters of the lake. The place is so quiet and undisturbed with an atmosphere of calmness.

On a small island within the Narta Lagoon, the Zvernec Monastery appears before hundreds of pine trees. Also known as the St. Mary Of Divinity Church, this Byzantine era church was built sometime during the 14th century. Despite its age, the building is extremely well preserved.

The inside is full of beautiful paintings and the outside has a well maintained garden.

There is only one thing connecting the tiny island, where the church is located, with the mainland, and that is a curved wooden bridge. Visit this hidden gem located just a short drive from Vlora and enjoy the peaceful setting.

Today we visited Duka winery and tasted their exquisite wines. Since 2004 this place has grown into a favourite spot for wine and food lovers. It has a 6-hectare vineyard where a variety of grapes are grown, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and more, using methods that are kind to the earth. Only one hour drive from Tirana, close to Durres and not far from Kruja, it can easily be included as part of your visit in Albania.

"Lungomare" is a promenade along the sea in the city of Vlora and it is one of the best urban spaces for rest, meditation, pedaling, sports or socializing in Albania.

Besac fortress is located on a hill above Virpazar, in Shkodra/ Skadar lake, in Montenegro. The Ottomans built here a fortress over an older settlement and made use of the perfect location.

Today is a very curated place which apart from the unique views of the surroundings, it also features a winery and a restaurant.

It can be reached by a narrow isolated branch of the Virpazar – Bar road, via Sutorman.

"Saint Nicholas" church in Grabovë e Sipërme, Gramsh, Albania, is an orthodox church built in the 18th century and a cultural monument of Albania.

The church follows the pattern of many Eastern Orthodox churches with its east-west axis. The masonry uses local stone, the roof is covered in stone tiles and the floor is built from stone slabs. Worshipers and other area residents are buried in and around the structure.

Pictures taken during our late October hike from Theth to Valbonë.

The hike from Theth to Valbonë or vice versa, is one of the most popular hikes in Albania and in the Balkans. This epic hike runs through the spectacular Albanian Alps. Historically used as a mule trail from early spring until late autumn, it is a combination of towering mountains, deep valleys and forested slopes.

The hike is around 15 km long depending on where you start and the difficulty level is medium. It can take 6-8 hours.

Can you believe this village is in Albania 😍?!

The village of Theth sits deep at the heart of the Albanian Alps. The landscape here rivals the one you’d find in the Swiss Alps; the dramatic peaks of the Accursed Mountains look over the village and its green fields full of cows, goats and wildflowers.

Here you can enjoy some incredible hikes to Grunas Waterfall and Nderlysaj Blue Eye.

Now, Theth is easy to access as the road is newly paved and in a good condition.

Kruja and its charm 😍

Beautifully situated among mountain peaks and the green valley stretching all the way down to the Adriatic coast, Kruja is not only a beautiful small town but a place full of history. It was the Albanian capital and center of the heroic resistance of Gjergj Kastrioti in the 15th century against the Ottoman Empire.

Budva old town features a distinctive Mediterranean architecture with charming cobblestone streets. It got its picturesque present-day look when the Venetians came here in late middle ages.

The first thing you’ll notice upon entering the massive walled town is its long narrow alleyways where you can wander for hours without getting bored. There’s all kinds of souvenir shops and cafes waiting to be discovered.
