• The Ottomans established the town in the 15th century and the governor himself lived in the center of the city. This is the reason why it was called Sarajevo.
• It had typical Ottoman architecture in the buildings, in the market and it was one of the most important of the area, serving also as a capital of vilayet.
• At the beginning of the 20th century, the country and Sarajevo itself was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
• Afterward, it became part of Yugoslavia and then it became the capital of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The ancient city of Butrint is much preferable to be visited as an archeological center, where antiquity and beauty interwine. The archeological excavations show that Butrint has been an important center of the Kaonian Illyrians, one of the big tribes of southern Illyria. The Butrint National Park comprises in Vlorë County located in the southwestern corner of Albania alongside the Ionanian sea. In 1992, the archeological site joined UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Shared by Montenegro and Albania, Skadar Lake is a natural reserve hosting quite a few endemic species in its 400 square kilometers. It is the largest lake in the Balkans.
