With a smile on our faces we look back at a successful 2023. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for their help during this successful year!

- We had a total of 125 nests on Bonaire and Klein Bonaire and are still waiting for the last 5 nests to hatch!
- 275 turtles were captured during our capture-mark-recapture research and 210 new turtles have been tagged.
- 2 satellite transmitters were placed so we could follow 'Mateo' and 'Gabriela'.
- A total of 10,720 hatchlings made it safely out of their nest.
- A total of 46 nests were adopted by our amazing sponsors.
- A total of 104 clean-ups were done including fishing line clean-up dives and Klein Bonaire clean-ups.

We hope that 2024 will be just as successful!

End of year update!

We have had a very successful year with a total of 124 nests on Bonaire and Klein Bonaire. At this moment we are waiting for the last 6 nests on Klein Bonaire to hatch before officially closing the 2023 season!

We are looking forward to the start of next year's season!

Lac pa Semper - Exciting Update for Lac Bay. STINAPA drafted a new zoning plan after multiple stakeholder consultations to enhance safety and recreation in the area. It includes a comprehensive zoning plan aimed at balancing nature conservation, reducing user conflicts, and enhancing the safety of recreational activities. The goal? A sustainable, user-friendly Lac.

Roffa Reefs breeding system🐠

Roffa Reefs is founded in the Rotterdam Zoo. They have designed a floating breeding system to breed marine larvae. The entire system operates using solar panels, enabling autonomous functionality in the wild. Currently, they are testing their fish breeding system in Bonaire. The newest design will be tested at one of our house reefs, Sand Dollar.

Bonaire made headlines once again in the largest national newspaper in The Netherlands De Telegraaf, as a result of the media visit of Hortence Chen at the invitation of restaurants Pasta e Basta and Cuba Compagnie in the summer of 2023, for which DPR-EU and TCB created the itinerary, and coordinated their experiences on island.

The end result is a great piece that focuses mainly on diving, watersports and nature, in a great effort of the VRIJ editors at De Telegraaf to supplement Bonaire related content they already produced in previous years.

Caribe Watersport is op zoek naar een parttime werknemer, voor op de cruisemarkt en ons Karels verkoop punt om zelfstandig onze Water Taxi & Snorkeltour tickets te verkopen voor een paar uurtjes per dag op dagen die jij kan werken, heb je een paar uur over of wil je meerdere dagen werken graag, schrijf ons dan.

Zo zijn we ook opzoek naar een inval Kapitein, om af en toe ingezet te kunnen worden.

Ben jij een man/vrouw/mens en oud genoeg of voel je je niet te oud om te werken in een leuk team, kun je dus goed in team verband werken en heb je je mondje bij je, Heb je interesse en in de watersport, kun je Nederlands en Engels, ben je creatief en een echte gangmaker, ben je gastvrij en goed met mensen, hou je van sportieve activiteiten, en bruis je van energie?
