Brazil supports campaign to promote geoparks in the south of the country 🇧🇷
The Ministry of Tourism is investing R $ 100,000 to carry out a promotional campaign that will publicize the tourist attractions of the canyons in the south of the country.
Located between seven municipalities of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, the tourist region has an area of 2,830 square kilometers, which includes geological heritage and landscapes of international geological relevance. In addition, the site encompasses outstanding ecosystems in Brazil and has a rich cultural heritage, representative of the different peoples that live in that region.
By granting the title of geopark, Unesco ensures the sustainability, preservation and environmental protection of these areas, also promoting the participation of the inhabitants of the region, in addition to expanding the tourist capacity of the place. Currently, in Brazil, only the Araripe Geological Park, in Ceará, has Unesco certification. Worldwide, there are 147 UNESCO-titled geoparks in 41 countries.

For the 3rd consecutive year, Argentina has the best winery in the world 🍷
For the third time in a row, The World's Best Vineyard recognized the famous Argentine winery , Zuccardi Valle de Uco, as the best in the world. Mendoza's wine paradise was awarded the title by a jury of 600 experts who selected the winners from more than 1,500 establishments.
What are they based on to choose? Regarding the quality of the wines, of course -Finca Piedra Infinita Gravascal 2018, one of its Malbecs, had achieved the highest possible score in Robert Parker´s Wine Advocate magazine, “the 100 Parker points” - but other factors are also evaluated such as the gastronomy, the route, the accessibility, the environment, the attention, the reputation and the landscape. And what a landscape of endless green vineyards under the Andes Mountains, right?

“Back to BA” Program
The Buenos Aires government announced the international relaunch of the City in the hybrid event "Back to BA", held with the English magazine The Economist. There is a strategy to reactivate the "visitor's economy", recover the flow of international tourists and promote investments in competitive sectors.
The objectives of the City's international strategy include recovering 3 million international tourists by 2023 , with a special focus on business tourism , and recovering the stock of 100,000 international students who arrived annually in the City before the pandemic. Likewise, Buenos Aires, which was chosen as the best city in Latin America for digital nomads, aims to attract 20,000 remote workers by 2023, which could result in spending close to USD 150 million. To do this, the City works with VisitBA , the public-private agency for the international promotion of Buenos Aires, more than 40 hotels and AirBnB in a strategy to position itself as an urban destination for remote workers.

Great news for Chile: the recovery of employment in the tourism sector continues!
The undersecretary of Tourism stressed that “we have almost 500,000 people employed in tourism, which is tremendous news for the sector and also for the country's economy.
This mobile quarter, the national economy created more than 100,000 jobs and more than 20,000 of them correspond to the tourism sector ”. In addition, he assured that "the data that we see today reflect the good health situation of the country, but also the constancy of the sector, which has complied with all health standards, has taken care of its workers and customers so that tourism continues to be an activity safe within Chile ”.
Regarding the branches of activity, the INE report shows that those employed in accommodation and food services grew 42.3% in twelve months; in sports, recreational and cultural activities the increase was 33%; and in tourist transport 25.8%.

The Buenos Aires Tango Festival and World Cup is the largest tango festival in the world.
Every year, thousands of tango lovers come to Buenos Aires to compete or perform, or just enjoy classes, milongas, concerts and the Tango World Cup competition itself.
This year the festival will be online, but couples have the chance to compete in the Tango World Cup virtually. The rest of the world can watch, and even cast their votes online! There will also be virtual classes and milongas.
There will be a great multidisciplinary opening to highlight the presence and role of women in tango.
The event will be held from August 26th to August 30th.

What Americans should know about traveling to Brazil right now! 🇧🇷
Brazil is currently open to American travelers.
Fully vaccinated American visitors are able to bypass quarantine upon arrival by providing proof of their inoculations, with all three vaccines currently approved for use in the U.S. accepted by Brazilian authorities. Regardless of vaccination status, U.S. travelers to Brazil will need to present negative results from a PCR or antigen test performed within 72 hours of departure in order to enter the country. For unvaccinated travelers, a negative test gets you into the country, but you'll still need to quarantine for 14 days.
Two of Brazil’s three busiest airports, Guarulhos (GRU) and Brasília (BSB), reported an increase in arrivals (13.62) and departures (14.26 percent) during the month of June. The president of Embratur credited its marketing campaigns, which highlight that nation’s adoption of COVID-19 biosafety protocols as contributing to its recent tourism growth.

Uruguay will start to open its borders in two stages: from September 1st, all foreigners vaccinated against Covid-19 who own properties in Uruguay with a negative PCR test can enter the country.
In a second stage, from November 1st, the gradual opening of borders will include all immunized foreigners with a negative PCR test.
The Minister of Tourism, Germán Cardoso said that "it is a day of great hope" for the tourism sector, in the field of serious and responsible work to take care of the health and life of Uruguayans.

The Responsible Tourism Seal reaches 29 thousand adhesions in Brazil! 🇧🇷

The Ministry of Tourism has just reached the mark of 29.000 Responsible, Clean and Safe Tourism Stamps issued throughout the country. The seal is awarded to places that commit to comply with the Covid-19 prevention protocols and, in this way, offer more security to tourists and workers in the sector. The initiative was launched in 2020, placing Brazil among the top 10 countries in the world to implement health protocols for tourism.
The segments with the highest number of adhesions to the seal so far are: travel agencies accommodation facilities, tour guides, tourist transport companies and restaurants, cafes and bars. The states that registered the highest adherence to the initiative are: São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro followed by Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia.

More than 70 people with disabilities and the elderly will join Chile’s tourism industry 🇨🇱
Through a pilot program 77 people acquired the necessary knowledge to integrate, in the future, the Chilean tourism industry.
The national director of the National Sernatur Service, Andrea Wolleter, stated that the program “demonstrated that there are no age limits for learning and that digital barriers can be broken, thus being able to learn new knowledge. All the participants were able to discover new capabilities and we hope that they will be encouraged to continue advancing to be an important part of the industry”

This national public holiday marks Argentina's independence from Spain which was declared on 9 July 1816. 🇦🇷
The day is usually celebrated by patriotic events such as speeches, parades and military demonstrations and is a popular time for family reunions. As a tradition we eat locro, which is a stew that includes some form of meat and root vegetables such as squash, pumpkin, potatoes, and yams. Lots of people also add corn, beans and possibly a garnish made of cumin, onions or paprika.

Brazil boosts its connectivity by adding a new airline! ✈️🇧🇷
Brazil has another airline in operation, expanding the possibilities of air travel throughout the country. Ita Transportes Aéreos made its maiden flight yesterday morning (29.06), departing from Guarulhos (SP) to Brasilia (DF). In addition to the two initial cities, the new company will operate in other seven destinations: Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Curitiba (PR), Florianópolis (SC), Belo Horizonte (MG), Salvador (BA) and Porto Alegre (RS). .
The company expects that 22 destinations will be covered with flights by the end of the year.
Itapemirim Transportes Aéreos was created in 2020 and is part of the Itapemirim Group, which has 67 years of history in the country's transportation sector.
This addition will result in several benefits for the population, such as the generation of more jobs, in addition to diversifying the offer and strengthening competition between airlines.

Who’s getting ready to celebrate the “Festa Junina” in Brazil? 🇧🇷
Festa Junina is an international tradition as it’s adapted from the European festival that happens during Midsummer. The history of this festival dates back to the colonial period (1500–1822) when the Portuguese established a tradition of celebrating the nativity of St. John the Baptist.
Regarding Brazil, the Festa Junina holiday plays an important role in Latin American culture, and it is celebrated during the month of June nationwide. Not only does this festival commemorate Catholic priests like Saint Anthony, Saint John, and Saint Peter, but it also celebrates rural life and its traditions. With the aim of expressing gratitude for the rain, participants wear rural-themed clothes, dance quadrilha, and create bonfires. All in all, it is all about the agricultural nature of the holiday. This year it will take place on June 24th.

The iconic city of the Argentine winter awaits the visit of tourists with everything ready to enjoy a safe winter.
The health protocols that already showed their effectiveness in summer 2021 with the visit of thousands of tourists, are still being implemented throughout the city, with improvements in its urban infrastructure and services.
Cerro Catedral works for its opening on July 1st, subject to snow conditions.
Having had a pilot experience last winter, having been one of the most chosen destinations in the summer of 2021 and being the preferred one in the last massive pre-sales for online purchases put Bariloche's tourism industry in an optimistic position.

Brazil is among the three countries where people most want to travel in 2021 🇧🇷

According to a survey carried out by the Booking.com reservation platform, for 63% of respondents in the country, traveling has become even more important now than before the Covid-19 pandemic.
The data also reveals that 3 out of 4 Brazilians are eager to make the next trip, which places Brazil in third place in the ranking of countries that most want to travel in 2021, tied with India and only behind Israel and Vietnam.
Another survey by Booking.com points out that 62% of the platform's accommodation partners around the world expect to see an increase in travel interest in 2021, and almost 70% of surveyed accommodations have increased their health and safety measures, in addition to having improved cleaning processes on its properties.
“This is a global trend. Tourists are more concerned about biosafety and will look for tourism establishments that meet strict Covid-19 prevention protocols. That is why we have always reinforced the importance of tourism service providers adhering to the Responsible Tourism Seal, an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism that brings together good sanitary practices”, stressed minister of Tourism Gilson Machado Neto.

Today is Buenos Aires Birthday!
The city commemorates 441 years since its foundation by Juan de Garay in 1580. He dubbed the settlement "Santísima Trinidad" and its port became "Puerto de Santa María de los Buenos Aires”.
The short form that eventually became the city's name, "Buenos Aires", became commonly used during the 17th century.
Well-known as the birthplace of tango, Buenos Aires is also home to world-class opera, theater and famous restaurants. Add in top-notch architecture and a nightlife scene, and it’s no wonder the seductive and vibrant city is known as the “Paris of Latin America.”

Did you know that its origin was in the Southwest of France, where it is called "Côt"?
It was first introduced in Argentina in 1853 by French agronomist Michel A. Pouget and nowadays over 75% of all Malbec grapes are grown in Argentina.
Some amazing facts:
*129 million liters of Malbec were exported by Argentina in 2020. That’s enough Malbec to fill up over 65 Olympic size swimming pools.
*10,922ft: The highest vineyard is located at this altitude, in the Northwest of Argentina. That's five times higher than the Shanghai Tower.
*112,823 acres planted with Malbec in Argentina. That is roughly 8 times the size of Manhattan.

Visit Argentina presented its new visual identity 😀🇦🇷
Large extensions? Yes. Nature? Yes. Seas and mountains? Also Yes. Argentina's geographic diversity is so incredible that world travelers have an endless itinerary of options to live and enjoy. With this idea, crystallized under the concept of Infinity, the National Institute for Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR) presented its new visual identity at the FITUR 2021 International Tourism Fair.
Here are some details that define the new identity and that seeks to generate an impact on the tourism trade:
* Extension, diversity and contrasts are the characteristics that distinguish it.
* The “infinite” as a reference to an endless offer in a country that has it all: culture, nature, architecture, gastronomy, the warmth of its people and more.
* The symbol of infinity is associated with a binocular, with the wheels of a car to travel the country, a bicycle, some waves of the Argentine sea, the attentive eyes of our people, whatever any tourist imagines. It is the result of multiple options.
* The concept is reinforced with the initials V and A, which form opposing arrows that invite you to explore both these different options and the vastness of our country.

Some good news!
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has applauded the growing number of countries that have decided to reopen their borders for vaccinated travelers.
The latest figures gathered by IATA reveal that more than 20 countries have partially or entirely lifted their entry restrictions for those vaccinated against COVID-19.
Germany is among the most recent countries to abolish quarantine restrictions for vaccinated travelers and those who have recovered from the Coronavirus. The country has also removed quarantine restrictions for travelers that provide a negative COVID-19 test result.
As stated by the US CDC, relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions is a stimulus for vaccination, especially in communities where people are hesitant to undergo the process.
