Message from the Argentinian ministry of Health concerning COVID-19.
In order to coordinate the application of the new mandatory health protocol to flights arriving in the country, an inter-ministerial meeting was held with representatives of the National Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, ANAC and airlines.
At the meeting, the need to isolate the passenger with symptoms compatible with the COVID-19 and to take the necessary isolation measures was highlighted. For this it was arranged that:
- All passengers and crew must compulsorily fill out the form provided by the Ministry of Health "Traveler Health Declaration".
- The airlines will have the obligation to inform the airport authorities of the presence of any possible suspicious case during the flight before arrival at the airport. Detection may be triggered by a warning from the passenger himself, a crew member or another passenger.
- In the event of a suspicious case, the airline must include the health information in the General Aircraft Declaration and warn the Air Traffic Services (Control Tower), prior to arrival.
- The signs to consider a suspected case of COVID-19 infection are: fever and cough, plus sore throat or respiratory distress. In addition, anyone who comes from or has been in the last 14 days in countries with circulation of the virus or who have had close contact with a confirmed or suspected case of carrying coronavirus.
- If a suspicious case is detected, the current protocol will be carried out, locating the aircraft in Post 18 so that airport doctors and Border Health personnel can attend to assess the situation.
- In the event of a detection of any possible infected with the aircraft already located on the sleeve, the crew must delay the evacuation of the aircraft and immediately notify the authorities to activate the protocol with the completion of the "Declaration of health of the traveler ”by all the passengers and the crew, and the report in the General Declaration of the Aircraft by the airline.
- The airline staff must collect the Affidavits and deliver them to Border Health officials after the opening of doors in sleeve.
