Eolo features the most Instagrammable sky in Patagonia ✨️

This property, which bears the hallmark of Relais Chateaux Hotel, is an all-time favorite in El Calafate for its simplicity, elegance, and remarkable service.

A 100% sustainable lodge that invites to adventure and relaxation in Chile

If you know a rider who loves nature and enjoys the thrill of horseback riding and is looking for an immersion experience in the wildlife and Argentine culture, without giving up the comforts of good accommodations and fabulous local food then this is the place.

We visited Estancia Los Potreros in a very secluded location in the heart of the beautiful Córdoba. The land has been farmed by the Begg family for four generations, and today Kevin and Louisa Begg share their home and lifestyle with the guests, providing a unique and unforgettable vacation with first-hand contact with the rural traditions of Argentina.

The Estancia is exceptionally proud of its reputation of having outstanding horses for guests to enjoy. The herd is a mixture of Criollos, Paso Peruanos, polo ponies and some crossbreeds. The Estancia is currently actively breeding Paso Peruanos, a unique horse that has 5 gaits or paces (instead of 4) which provides an extremely comfortable riding experience that is not quickly forgotten. Guests are encouraged to get involved with all of the horse activities on the farm.

You can expect to be in the saddle for between 4-6 hours per day, consisting of either a day picnic ride or two rides (a long morning ride and a shorter afternoon ride) returning to the Estancia for lunch. Las Viboras is a working estancia in the heart of Argentina’s southern pampas that’s open to the public but avoids touristy gimmicks. The perfect place for those who are looking for an authentic experience sharing side by side the activities with the gauchos. You will be able to observe and participate in a great variety of activities and country customs. The estancia has work facilities for cattle, horses and sheep. Tasks are performed to order the hacienda: caravans, vaccination, weaning, tact. Equine lovers can also participate in the “Indian and rational“ dressage of their foals who will one day play polo. The ranch is run by the polo-playing Dodero family, and the sisters, Sandy and Gigi, are the perfect hosts.

Location
Las Viboras is the head-house for almost 25,000 acres of prime cattle-rearing land.
It's a three-hour drive from Buenos Aires and its airport, there’s not much else to do once you get here but that’s the point, really. A perfect patch of grassy pampas for anyone who for those who aim to take part in the daily tasks, loves to ride horses, birdwatch (approx. 200 species) or take slow, meditative walks.

Accommodation & facilities
The original house dates from the 1820's, with a classic Rio de la Plata style – a melding of understated Spanish exterior, Italianate moldings and touches of country-house coziness. There are nine comfortable rooms; most are ensuite and with a fireplace, a living room, games room with pool table, TV room and a library. There’s some Wi-Fi access and a landline to use, as mobile phone coverage is very poor. Also four vintage carriages, canoes to use on the nearby Viboras river, a tennis court and pool.

Food & drinks
All stays are full-board. As well as wonderful outdoor asados (barbecues, with beef, lamb, chicken and offal), soups, gazpacho, chard gratin, Patagonian shrimp salad, local fish and classic Argentine desserts such as dulce de leche ice-cream. Veggie and coeliac options are available too. Good wines and non-alcoholic drinks are included for lunch/dinner.

🌷In October the Andes mountains give a colorful landscape thanks to the cultivation of tulips in Trevelin.

The town of Trevelin is located in the Patagonian region of Argentina, near Esquel.

During October and until the 4th of November, the tulip fields offer an astonishing and colorful landscape that looks like something out of a painting, magical postcards of the Patagonian Cordillera.

Since 1997 tulip bulbs have been cultivated in Trevelin by the Ledesma family, who decided to bet on this type of non-traditional enterprise in the region. There are 27 varieties of tulips that give a colorful frame to the Patagonian landscape, red, yellow, white, violet, and double-flowered, among many others, but the black-flowered tulip is the most distinguished of the production.

Trevelin and Esquel were founded along with Puerto Madryn, Rawson, Trelew and Gaiman by Welsh settlers in 1865 and their culture is a living icon in Patagonia represented by mills and chapels, tea houses and festivals celebrating Welsh heritage.

Esquel is one of the gates to the Lake District, full of incredible landscapes, lakes, ski centers, and forests, which extends to Bariloche and further north.

This adventure of 505 miles of navigation is a deep immersion in untouched nature, still untouched by the virgin nature still untouched by human activity, which you can get to know by sailing through the tangled channels and fjords of the Magallanes region to the glaciers of the Campo de Hornos. The Glaciers of the Southern Ice Field, an area with 48 glacier basins. 🤔 A prison hid away in the cold Patagonian land, and a train used as part of daily work, may sound like the elements of a mystery novel. Fortunately, this story becomes real in Ushuaia aboard the End of the World Train (@eltrendelfindelmundo). . 🚂 The Train began in 1902 with a wooden railway, as a way of transporting to the prison rock, sand, and timber and was pulled by oxen, horses, and even prisoners. . 🛤 In 1910 it was upgraded to a metal railway with a steam locomotive, it connected the prison with the forest, and crossed the shoreline in front of the growing city of Ushuaia. . 💪 The “Train of the Prisoners” as it was called, helped with the expansion of Ushuaia. Their labor was the main provider of goods and services. . 🪓 The prison was closed down in 1947 due to humanitarian reasons; but the train kept on working providing wood for local mills.
