Undoubtedly, Perito Moreno is a famous and breathtaking glacier.
.
One of the most intriguing things about this glacier is that it continues to advance while most of the world’s glaciers are retreating.
.
Lets join this incredible walk on the ice! The images will speak for themselves.

🤔 A prison hid away in the cold Patagonian land, and a train used as part of daily work, may sound like the elements of a mystery novel. Fortunately, this story becomes real in Ushuaia aboard the End of the World Train (@eltrendelfindelmundo).
.
🚂 The Train began in 1902 with a wooden railway, as a way of transporting to the prison rock, sand, and timber and was pulled by oxen, horses, and even prisoners.
.
🛤 In 1910 it was upgraded to a metal railway with a steam locomotive, it connected the prison with the forest, and crossed the shoreline in front of the growing city of Ushuaia.
.
💪 The “Train of the Prisoners” as it was called, helped with the expansion of Ushuaia. Their labor was the main provider of goods and services.
.
🪓 The prison was closed down in 1947 due to humanitarian reasons; but the train kept on working providing wood for local mills. It stopped working in 1949 due to an earthquake damaging the tracks.
.
🚞 In 1994, the train came back to life again but now as a tourist attraction, looking to keep alive the history of Ushuaia, the southernmost city in Argentine Patagonia.
.
🚉 It covers a total trail of 7 km (4.5 mi), half of it inside @parquenacionaltierradelfuego, with 3 main stations: “Fin del Mundo”, “Cascada La Macarena” and “Parque Nacional”.
.
🍾 Nowadays the train offers more luxurious service, compared to those of their prison days, with tourist and first-class options complete with dine-in services.
.
👨🏻💻 This train picturesque ride can be enjoyed all year round, contact the Alchemist to help you plan mythical journeys to #EndoftheWorld and discover more of its hidden treasures…
