Every September 25, the National Day of the Southern Right Whale is celebrated in Argentina to remember the anniversary of the rescue of "Garra", a juvenile right whale that got entangled in the chains of a catamaran and thanks to the joint effort of the community of Puerto Pirámides (Chubut, Argentine Patagonia) could be freed!

We are glad to announce a new experience at El Calafate, Patagonia Argentina, called Safari Azul (Blue Safari).
The Blue Safari is designed for those who, in addition to sailing in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier, dream of getting closer to the glacial ice!

The tour begins in El Calafate when the bus leaves for Los Glaciares National Park. Once in Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, just 7 km from the footbridges, we will take a boat to cross Lago Rico and, after sailing 20 minutes, we will disembark on the opposite coast.

Little by little we will walk for 30 minutes always with a view of the southern wall of the Glacier in case we are surprised by some thunderous landslide. Once next to the ice it will be time for an unforgettable experience… We will be able to fully enjoy its intense and varied blues, whites and its whimsical shapes.

We will have time to take many photos and then we will return to the embarkation point always accompanied by an experienced guide. The total walk is approximately 1.30 hours through a natural terrain of sand and stones with some slopes and stairs. The route, one and a half kilometers long, will be along the shore of the lake and through a lush forest with a view of the Glacier.

Finally we will take the boat to appreciate from the water and, a few meters away, the entire southern face of the glacier and be able to see every detail of the marbled ice wall.

Once in the port, we will take the bus to the footbridges, where we will have 2 hours to enjoy the incredible panoramic view. In addition, they will be able to take advantage of this time to consume the food that they must bring from El Calafate.

We will arrive in El Calafate after touring the Patagonian steppe, with our soul charged with the natural energy of this unique glacier. We can't wait to be your hosts!

February 22 is "Argentina Antarctica Day" and marks the 118th anniversary of Argentina's uninterrupted permanence in Antarctica; because on that day in 1904, the Argentine flag waved for the first time in our white homeland, precisely on Laurie Island of the Orkney Islands group, where the Orkney Base currently operates.

By Law of the Nation No. 20,827/74 published in the Official Gazette 23,043, it was instituted as Argentina Antarctica Day on February 22 of each year, determining that law, that on that day the national flag will be hoisted to the top in the public buildings of the Nation and acts alluding to our inalienable rights of sovereignty over Argentine Antarctica will be carried out in all educational establishments; We hope to see our flag fly that day, because for years this has happened in few places.

ARGENTINA REOPENS ITS BOARDERS!

Finally, after 1 and a half year of nightmare, the news that we all were waiting for, has arrived:
Argentina reopens its boarders to international visitors
from November 1st.

These are the conditions established to enter into the country:

- Full vaccination, with the last dosis applied at least 14 days before the arrival.

- Negative PCR test (72hs valid before departure) OR antigen test at arrival.

- Negative PCR at day 5 or 7 of staying in the country.

- If visitors are not vaccinated, they will have to do 7 days of quarantine
and a PCR test on day 7.

- From October 1st visitors from border countries will be allow.

A Puna on a Glacier?! Yes!
Yesterday at Lake Argentino some visitors were able to see a puma on an iceberg.

📍The Los Glaciares National Park has previous records where pumas crossed swimming from one coast to the other since they are excellent swimmers.

❄️ Just as he got there by his own means, he is expected to reach the mainland in the same way.

The lake service concession companies were asked to avoid approaching or going around the place so as not to stress the animal.

In any case, from the Park we will be monitoring it and measures to implement are analyzed if necessary.
