Un ave emblemática de Sudamérica durante nuestro último curso de aves avanzado, en los Esteros del Iberá: el yetapá de collar 𝘈𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘳𝘶𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘢 (Tyrannidae).
Símbolo histórico de las “pampas”: infinitos pastizales templados de Argentina, Uruguay, Brasil y Paraguay, hoy apenas restringido a una pequeña área del norte de Argentina y Paraguay, como esperanza de supervivencia y recuperación.

The Pale-breasted Spinetail 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘹𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘴 (Furnariidae) / locally pijui cola parda, usually singing inside the bushes and today we were lucky enough to find him outside!

This morning, Valentina, a girl who lives in Ibera Wetlands, in Loreto, found a turtle.
The turtle was covered in ashes from the fires, and exhausted and deserted from the drought.
They notified us right away and we went to her rescue to give her first aid and release her into the Ibera Birding Lodge lake, where she is safe while she recovers. When the rains return, you can continue looking for other turtles and other lagoons.

Iberá is a huge wetland and different natural regions reach its different edges.
To the south the spinal, to the northeast the Atlantic forest and here in the northwest come fabulous subtropical grasslands and tall forests.
These forests belong to the humid chaco, with transition elements and an outstanding wealth.
Much of the 500 species of birds in the province live in this corner sought after by bird watchers.
These forests are now the habitat of two valuable reintegrated species: Red-and-green Macaw and Barr-faced Curassow.
Among of this diversity, lakes, rivers and wetlands generate a unique landscape, an essential nature refuge in our world.

Con el apogeo de la temporada de reproducción de verano, la relativa paz y tranquilidad de un amanecer del sur de América del Sur está constantemente salpicada por las melodías repetidas en voz alta de los pájaros. En toda la región, hay pocos tan vociferantes y comprometidos como la familia de los Zorzales (Turdidae).
Conocidos en todo el mundo por sus canciones largas y ricamente melodiosas, los tordos de esta región no son diferentes. Representados por 9 especies, ocupan todos los hábitats del continente, desde las selvas tropicales del norte hasta las laderas andinas, y son particularmente prominentes en parques y jardines en áreas urbanas. Esto puede ser problemático para aquellos que tienen el sueño liviano, ya que su canto comienza mucho antes de las primeras luces del día.
Sin embargo, sus canciones pueden disfrutarse, después de todo, anuncian la primavera y, por lo tanto, el mejor clima. Los zorzales son perfectamente compatibles viviendo cerca de las personas, mientras mantienen una distancia natural y saludable (a diferencia de las palomas domésticas y los gorriones domésticos). Independientemente de la hora, siempre debemos estar agradecidos por el despertador temprano del Zorzal.
