We are thrilled to announce that on November 23rd, we will be hosting an exclusive winemaker’s dinner with Santiago Reta from Finca La Escarcha.

Santiago will be in town to unveil his new Rosé and we are fortunate to be among the first people to taste it!

The evening will begin with a glass of his exceptional Marsanne, Roussanne & Viognier blend upon arrival. Following that, each dish will be expertly paired with his new Rosé, “Encubierto”Malbec + Syrah + Cabernet blend, “Entrelineas” 2019 Syrah and culminating with his iconic ”Verso Perverso” 2017 blend.

First 📷 Bodega Isasmendi - Jean Paul Bonnal - 2019

Something truly special - Jean Paul Bonnal is blend of Malbec and Merlot grown at extreme altitude (8200 ft) and aged 12 months in 1st and 2nd use French Oak.

Second 📸 Mevi Limited Edition Gran Reserva Blend - 202: Made exclusively to celebrate the winery’s 10th anniversary it’s a blend of the 3 grapes the winery is best known for - Malbec, Cab and Syrah. Aged for 18 months in french oak barrels, this is a mouth watering combination of ripe fruit and toasty oak.

Last week we were at - Argentina’s most important event for the wine trade. It’ a wonderful gathering of winemakers, producers, and winery owners from all over the country, from Southern Patagonia to the extreme altitude vineyards of Jujuy.

We have just returned from Uruguay where we spent a few days learning about the food and wine in Montevideo and the Canelones wine region. We had a fantastic time and decided to bring back some wines to share with you!

Four Course Dinner with Wine Pairings

During the dinner we will be serving four wines, each from a different winery and grape variety.

First off we have a white wine - Uruguay’s newest star - Albariño. This is from one of the wineries we visited on our trip - Bodega Pizzorno.

Next up we have a Pinot Noir from Colonia. This is a new project just minutes from the historic centre of Colonia de Sacramento.

We then go back to Canelones for a fascinating grape called Marselan and finally off to San José for a Tannat (of course) from the winery Castillo Viejo. We were lucky enough to be given a tour and tasting of the winery with the winemaker - Alejandra Pizzurno

To accompany each of these wines Aby has created a Rioplatense inspired menu - each dish designed especially to pair with the wine.

Thanks to everyone who joined our sparkling wine tasting! This time we tried 4 incredible wines from Mendoza with different concepts, each one unique!

Each wine was paired with a dish created especially to accompany the flavours and textures of the wine.
