Nearly 100 years ago, the charismatic racing enthusiast Prince ANTAL Esterházy embarked on a daring Tour de Force through the Sahara together with his best friend, Count László Almásy—better known as 'The English Patient.' Although ESTORAS founder Paul Esterházy never met his grandfather he was accompanied by the stories of his fantastic adventures through childhood and youth. Inspired by ANTAL's spirit of courage and elegance ESTORAS revives the essence of a timeless era and brings it to life in a modern interpretation. The Story of ESTORAS is one of new beginnings. In February 1926, Prince ANTAL Esterházy & Count László Almásy decided on little more than a whim, a wager placed in front of a wintery fireplace in the Swiss alps, to embark on an adventure of a lifetime: Two weeks later the young travelers found themselves driving south into the endless sands of the Sahara.

ESTORAS is a story of larger-than-life characters, living in the constant duality of dignity and passion.

Count László Almásy was not only the best friend and fellow adventurer of Prince ANTAL Esterházy, he was also his brother-in-law married to ANTAL's sister. Just as the life and love of László inspired Michael Ondaatje's novel - The English Patient - and the movie adaptation of the same name which won several academy awards, it is their spirit that echoes in everything that is ESTORAS.

Prince ANTAL Esterházy - somewhat of a great Gatsby of 1920s Hungary - was a racetrack driver, horse breeder and altogether larger than life personality. His life and his adventures with his best friend Count László Almásy - the English Patient - inspired Antal‘s grandson Paul to create ESTORAS for those who chase impossible horizon today.
