This tour shows you the city of Salzburg with its surroundings as well as the Salzkammergut. The tour is based on the Musical Sound of Music - The history of the family Trapp - The original locations of filming. We see the Mirabellgardens, the main sets of Do-Re-Mi, The Terrace at M

ountain Mönchsberg. The Festival Halls of the Edelweis Song, The Cemetary of Saint Peter, Residence Square with Fountain, The Convent Stift Nonnberg, The Palaces of Leopoldskron and Fronburg used as the Residence of The Family in the movie. We pass even the real Residence of the Family Trapp in Salzburg. The mountain Untersberg as well as the Hills from the opening Scenery. Then we go to the lake district to see as the highlight the wedding church of the movie. The movie Sound of Music was filmed in 1965 in Salzburg and surroundings as well as in the studios of 20th Century Fox Studios in California starring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer and the 7 Kids - Director Robert Wise - Music by Rodgers & Hammerstein - We play and sing the songs during the tour! As A private guided tour we will get out at every location and I recommend for real Sound of Music Fans to do the Fullday Tour.

A wonderful full day tour with Didi, who was kind, friendly and engaging! We saw many sights in the old town and were driven to lovely spots and scenic towns just outside of Salzburg. Not only did Didi make history come alive, he also peppered our session with interesting general knowledge and current day insights. While we visited many places, the pace was perfect and we never felt rushed. Will not hesitate to book him again when I return to Salzburg. You can be sure that your day will be well spent.

Our morning and early afternoon with Didi were a key highlight of our 8-day tour of Europe. His knowledge of and passion for European history generally, and Salzburg specifically was amazing. We particularly enjoyed bike riding through outskirts of Salzburg and finishing off the tour at Didi’s friend’s pup to enjoy some football! We highly recommend this tour.

Didi took a group of 7 of us from Munich to Salzburg for Sound of Music tour as well as visiting the Eagle's nest. The day was wonderful. Didi is extremely knowledgeable, and exceeded our expectations. The ride was clean and comfortable.. We saw everything we hoped for and much more! Highly recommend any tour with Didi!
