The SCM Network Vienna is a non-profit club founded by the students of the MSc Supply Chain Management of WU Vienna to function as a networking base for current students, alumni, academic staff and corporate industry partners. Its main objectives are amongst others:
- To create a platform for connecting and keeping in touch for members of the network
- To support and facilitate subject-specific ex
change between current students and alumni
- To organize gatherings and lectures for all members
- To promote public relations in the sense of the network and its members
- To establish alliances to other students’ organizations of WU Vienna and support common matters
- To organize events promoting discussions and critical exchange of subject-specific topics
- To offer excursions and field-trips for its members
- To organize social events to support the informal exchange among its members
- To interact in events of all sort, amongst others sportive competition bringing members together to participate in teams
- To create and maintain corporate contacts
All activities of the SCM Network Vienna are financed by an annual membership fees and sponsoring of corporate and academic partners.

It’s a wrap! Yesterday our 5th edition of the Alumni Day took place at our beloved WU campus. Nearly 100 Alumnis and current students from 10 different batches enjoyed the day filled with several Alumni presentations and a keynote and the after party 🎉
Definitely one for the books and we’re already looking forward to the next year. 💙

Business Workshops 2022
On the 1st of April, around 80 students from the Marketing and SCM Master at WU came together on campus for the Business Brunch Workshops. Each student had the chance to join one or two company workshops in the morning. Accenture and Henkel offered spots for SCM students, Coca Cola provided a case study both for Marketing and SCM students and Kühbrein participated on the Marketing side. During the event, students had the chance to show and practice their skills as well as discuss current challenges of the respective companies.
On March 4th, .career invited 6 SCM students to a workshop event at its premises in Vienna. Inverto is one of the leading international consulting companies for procurement and supply chain management with offices in Europe and Asia.
At the beginning of the event, Michael Strohschneider (Principal) introduced Inverto to the students and gave an overview of current challenges that various industries are facing in the areas of procurement and supply chain management. In addition, (Consultant), a graduate of the SCM master program, and Julia Schreitl (Senior Consultant) shared their practical experiences from various consulting projects with the SCM members, giving interesting insights into their daily work at Inverto. Following the company presentation, the workshop participants had the opportunity to demonstrate their practical skills by working on a real business case of a German food retailer. The results were presented by each group which was followed by a joint discussion with the Inverto team. Claudia Pichler (Talent Acquisition) closed the official part of the agenda by outlining the promising career opportunities that await ambitious students at Inverto.
After the official part of the event had ended, the SCM members were invited to have a casual get-together with coffee and snacks, allowing for further interesting discussions about supply chain management, consulting and potential career opportunities.
