Massive thanks to Deb and the beautiful bunch of ladies we had just before Christmas. They were all such a delight to have and the campfire nights were filled with so much laughter.
Deb wrote this review:

“Mt Kosciusko ride December 24
The absolute best bunch of strong, positive, amazing and determined women, I felt as though i had known them all forever
this ride has changed my life.
Brad and Michaela are amazing people, free with their knowledge of the area, their kindness, their beautiful horses, and all the little things done behind the scenes to make your riding experience perfect. Heather’s wonderful food and waking up to the sound of horses walking past the tent was to me soul cleansing
My Dad always said you cannot have the pleasure of horse riding without first putting in the work and these guys work very hard to make the experience the best it can be, I take my hat off to you Brad Michaela and your fantastic crew please give Laddie a treat from me
If you are on the fence about doing this get up, get organized and do it
Debs
(I’m not sure who is smiling more me or Laddie)“

If you want to experience the mountains we still have spots available in late February and March!

The crew at Barellan Good Old Days Festival 2024 ✨
We had 4 pack horses with a Snowy Mountains Authority pack made by Quails Saddlery used in the surveying of the first hydro project, a near complete WW1 light horse pack, a WW2 pack that we estimate has done over 100,000km and a rare set of metal water Joeys made by Simpson brothers in Adelaide.
Quails Saddlery operated in Cooma for 100 years and many of their tools are now in the national museum in Canberra.
The Simpson Brothers (Simpson washing machines) at the time of Alfred’s death in 1891 was the largest metal manufacturing plant in Australia. The “joeys” water tanks were used in stock camps in dry areas.
We’re lucky to be a part of the parade and showcase these pieces of history.

I’m proud to be able to call Pete my mentor and mate. A beautiful piece of work that he poured his blood, sweat and tears into.
We have a number of his trees and would recommend his saddles to anyone

This is a photo of Peter Brophy with his entry into the Australian Western Saddle makers competition. This is the nicest saddle and piece of leather work I’ve ever seen. Pete has been working on it for over 5 years. Pete is a guy who has helped many of us saddle makers and inspired us to constantly improve. He has gone out of his way to help up and coming saddle makers. He is an innovator, craftsman, great bloke and someone I’m proud to call a great mate. Congratulations on building such a work of art!

The Tribute to the Teams Drive raised an incredible $14,000 including the meals for Motor Neurone Disease awareness and research last night at the Barellan and District War Memorial Club. Thanks to the local community for a fabulous effort. Pictured is Steve Johnson on the drive and living the dream. Image Jan Johnson.
