🪨 Nature’s Balancing Act – Have You Seen This Marvel? 🪨

Deep in Porongurup National Park, at the end of the trail leading to the base of Castle Rock, you’ll find one of nature’s most fascinating sights—Balancing Rock.

Standing an impressive 6 metres tall, this egg-shaped granite boulder has been smoothed and sculpted by time, now resting precariously on a tiny rocky base. It’s a true testament to the power of nature and a must-see for adventurers exploring WA’s incredible landscapes!

After marvelling at Balancing Rock, continue the climb to Castle Rock’s Granite Skywalk for incredible views over the region. Trust us—this is one hike you won’t forget! ⛰️✨

At the entrance to the charming coastal town of Tumby Bay stands a true masterpiece – the Tumby Bay Silo Art 🎨✨. Completed in 2018, these stunning silos showcase two boys joyfully leaping off the Tumby Bay Jetty, perfectly capturing the carefree spirit of summer in this idyllic part of South Australia.

Created by renowned artist Martin Ron and assistant Matt Gorrick, the mural was inspired by a photograph taken by local photographer Robert Lang in 2014. The result? A breathtaking work of art that’s become an icon on the Australian Silo Art Trail.

🌿 Restoration & Preservation on Louth Island 🌿

At Untamed Escapes, we’re on a mission to positively contribute to the destinations we visit – and give our passengers the opportunity to do the same. That’s why we’re excited to announce our new partnership with the luxury eco-resort Rumi on Louth, located on a privately owned island off the Eyre Peninsula. Rumi is dedicated to restoring this ancient island through an ambitious $10 million restoration project that includes ongoing revegetation and conservation efforts.

Untamed Escapes passengers on selected tours will take a scenic boat ride to Louth Island to participate in hands-on conservation work aimed at protecting and restoring the local environment.

🌱 What you’ll do:

On the island's southern end, where 3,000 native seedlings have been planted, you’ll help by cutting back African Daisy weeds to ground level, giving the native plants the best chance to thrive while avoiding soil disturbance that could further spread the invasive species. You'll also take a guided tour to see the seeds being propagated and learn from the team about their inspiring restoration efforts.

After a morning of meaningful work, it’s time to relax with a well-earned BBQ lunch in the midst of the island’s untamed natural beauty. And if the weather is just right, you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters – the perfect way to end the day.

This is more than just a travel experience – it’s your chance to give back to the land, make a meaningful impact, and contribute to the preservation of South Australia's incredible natural landscapes for generations to come. 🌊🌱
