We're thrilled to introduce our store manager, Annemarie, who pours her heart and soul into Semaphore, making it her pride and joy! With her immense expertise, we're truly fortunate to have such a dedicated leader.

1. How long have you worked in the travel industry/with PHT?
Growing up in Europe (Germany) and having had family members in the travel industry meant travelling the world from a very young age.
My passion for travel grew rapidly and after relocating to Australia, I studied Tourism and started my travel career with Phil Hoffmann Travel in 2007.
I had a brief break (maternity leave) to have my gorgeous little boy Kai (aka Dinosaur fanatic) and am back onboard working Monday – Thursday.
Time flies, when you love what you do - I have been with my PHT family for a total of 17 years.
2. Favourite holiday destination?
This is a tough one! I have so many favorites, from visually stunning Canada & Alaska, the impressive Norwegian Fjords to the culturally immersing and mesmerizing landscapes of Africa and everything in between.
I also love a cruise holiday, it’s a great way to experience a destination.
3. Bucket list destination?
Another tough question! Top of the list would be India followed closely by an expedition voyage to Antarctica. However, for now I am focused on enjoying some family friendly holidays with my little boy. Next up, is a Disney Cruise Vacation in November.
4. Favourite thing about working at PHT?
Woohoo ! This is an easy one. We are one big extended family of passionate individuals, working together to create ultimate dream holidays for our clients.

Mark grew up in Texas, lived in Japan and previously worked at the City store before moving down here to Semaphore.

1. How long have you worked in the travel industry/with PHT?
18 years - 2+ years in Dallas, 8 years at STA Travel, 8 years so far at PHT.
2. Favourite holiday destination?
Serengeti safari in Tanzania - Seeing wild animals in their natural habitat was an amazing experience! So far, it’s my only trip to Africa and I’d love to go again!!
Also, Japan, as I lived there for 7 years prior to Australia.
3. Bucket list destination ?
- Extensive tour of South America especially Argentina, Brazil, and Chile
- Safari and all of South Africa
- Egypt
4. Top travel tip?
If you like watching movies/entertainment on long haul flights, look at the airline’s websites to see what is showing when your flight will be happening. (Usually 2-3 days before you travel.) If there is nothing of interest, you have plenty of time to load streaming movies to your device before you leave home (Netflix, Binge, etc.)
5. Favourite thing about working at PHT?
Office camaraderie

Next up, we are happy to introduce our Assistant Manager Erin!
Erin previously worked at our Glenelg office before having a gorgeous little boy since Covid and has since graced us with her presence down here at Semaphore! 😄

1. How long have you worked in the travel industry/with PHT?
13 years in the industry and PHT, previous life 3 years in tourism before switching to travel.

2. Favourite holiday destination
Hard to pick just one destination but Vietnam has to be my MOST favourite. Beautiful scenery, rich history, unique culture, friendly and welcoming people, delicious cuisine – Vietnam has it all!

3. Bucket list destination
Top of the list would have to be, The Galapagos to experience the natural landscape unlike anywhere else in the world and to see the weird and wonderful wildlife and the Amazon to learn more about the indigenous tribes and their culture and for the wildlife. I would love to experience fishing for piranha on the Amazon river.

4. Top travel tip
Travel with an open mind, Immerse yourself in the destination you are travelling to. Eat with the locals, taste the local delicacy/specialty and adventure off the tourist track (as long as you are safe). Trust in destination specialists, they know the places inside out, it might cost a little more, but you can rest assured that you will have received some of the best advice and guidance.

5. Favourite thing about working at PHT
I love working for a respected and well known South Australian travel company. Phil Hoffmann Travel has always lead the way in offering more than just a place to book travel, from client meet and mingles, group travel and reunion catch ups, solo travelers club, travel expos, Italian cooking and language classes, photography classes.
