Day 2 - Private McLaren Vale Wine Tour

As this group were so hard to manage 🤪 I decided to ‘take 1 for the team’ and es**rt them for their 2nd days tour (in a row), this time to the beautiful

Their only request was to visit the ….the rest of the day was left to us to organise, based on their preferred wine styles.

It’s safe to say a great day was had by all…including their tour guide!👍

Thanks again Crysten for choosing to book a couple of days out with us, especially after your very extensive research! 🔬

1st day of 2 day private wine tour - Barossa Valley

I had a great day showing these guys around the 👍

We (not me), sampled some fantastic wine from both small boutique and well known wineries enjoyed a scrumptious lunch, cheese tasting all paired with matching dad jokes and a taste of local history amongst beautiful scenery throughout the day!☀️

Let’s just say it was not a quiet trip back!

It was a cold wet wintery day in the yesterday…….perfect for doing a 🍷🌧️

I thoroughly enjoyed showing this corporate group from regional Victoria around the Vale yesterday…..we, (maybe not me) sampled superb wines, enjoyed a scrumptious regional platter and finished with a choice of more wine, beer, gin, whisky or coffee….big day!👍

What a special day this was! ♥️

It was a pleasure to help organise a very romantic private tour of the McLaren Vale, so Nick could propose to his beautiful girlfriend Selina! 💍

We managed 3 excellent ‘boutique’ winery visits, a fab 3 course lunch then surprise proposal in the vineyard!

It couldn’t have gone any better…perfect weather, lots of great wine and food and plenty of laughs! 👍

Thanks to everyone, especially Michael and the gang at the for their help to make their day so memorable!👏

We organised a private tour to collect from Hahndorf House in our very comfortable Mercedes tour vehicle then es**rt them through the McLaren Vale to taste great wine matched with fun & engaging banter along the way!

Lunch at the always excellent Salopian Inn was thoroughly enjoyed!

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to let everyone know that after a short battle with cancer we lost one of our own on Saturday,aged only 63!

Tony Fitzpatrick was a good friend of mine.
I had known him for many years, initially working together in the corporate wine industry at 2 different companies prior to starting Cellar Door Tours 🍷

It took me a while to convince Tony to work for us, as he doubted he would be any good…..we are eternally glad he did as he was an exceptional tour guide and colleague for us!

Tony was great to be around, a true people person and always ready to pass his knowledge on to our guests in a funny and engaging manner!

…yes, some of his jokes were a little near the mark, but he always remained respectful and a true gentleman!

Tony will be greatly missed by the team at Cellar Door Tours, our many customers who repeatedly requested him to be their guide and by everyone he met along his journey!

RIP my old friend!

These brave soldiers went back to back full day tours with us….this time through the Adelaide Hills (including Hahndorf), ending up in the McLaren Vale and we still managed 3 wineries!

Once again, always great to have repeat customers tour with us!

This is day number 2 of 2 on tour with us 🍷

Tim showed this group to a few boutique wineries, a local cheesemaker, before heading to Hahndorf for an exceptional lunch! The group then had a very classy finish at the Penfolds Magill Estate!

The brief was to track down some excellent Rieslings, through to Bold Reds…….really not a difficult request when touring out of Adelaide! 👍

Laura and Warwick visited from Sydney and joined us for a tour around the stunning McLaren Vale.

Their only request was to taste premium Whites, Reds and Rose….in the end they were more than happy to just go with the flow and trust our recommendations!

They really love South Australian wines and were planning on spending the next few days travelling through the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley.
