Day Tripper Tours to McLeod’s Country was founded by Dianne and Jake. They had the idea to operate tours to the filming locations of McLeod’s Daughters when Series Two began filming. The very first ‘Pilot’ Tour to McLeod’s Country was on Saturday 4th May 2004. I was very fortunate to be part of that historic tour!
I took over the company end of 2010 and listed below is information regarding our current tours: * Travel in our vehicle with a fully licensed and accredited driver. ( You don’t need a vehicle to do our tours!) * Ours tours operate whenever they are required - 7 days/per week. But bookings are essential! * Weather conditions, Bush fires or private functions of our tour guide can cause we have to cancel booked tours, We aim to reschedule your tour as soon as the weather conditions or tour schedule allows us. * Our tours commence at Gawler - approx 1 hour north of Adelaide City. * We do not pick up from the city. If you do not have a car - we just ask you to catch the train from Adelaide to Gawler and we meet you at the train station. * On our tours we travel many kilometres - this tour is not just confined to a small area. The filming locations of ‘McLeod’s Daughters’ is very widespread and cannot be seen even in 1 day! Our aim is to show you as much as possible in the are we can travel within time frame. * When we are permitted - We do take you onto “Drovers Run” Property. If they have a private function (wedding etc) then we cannot take you onto the property. If this is the case we do have access to great viewing locations with fantastic photo opportunities. *We can not take you inside the homesteads of Drovers Run, Killarney or Wilgul or other privately owned houses used in the series. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer Tours to Mcleod's Country page.
