Announcement!📣
After a full and adventurous 10 weeks being back in SA, I’m excited for summer, excited to be reunited with my partner, and even MORE excited at the prospect of a rest.

While the whirring machine tells me I’m meant to be selling tours on Black Friday and planning my Xmas season marketing strategy, my body is pulling away and craving retreat.

My vintage bikes aren’t yet ready for tours. My driving schedule from Normanville to West Lakes is unsustainable. My website copy is out-of-date and so are my prices. I wasn’t sure how I would get ready for a busy summer of SUPing and cycling at Normanville when my insurance, procedures, marketing materials and equipment aren’t ready yet. I was unsuccessful in a grant that was going to help me pay for the set up of these new Normanville offerings, but in the same period, I was offered a job opportunity on KI and I got the gig!

So. A pause is coming. I’m off to Kangaroo Island to tend to cottages on the rugged southern coast for 15hours a week, spending the rest of my time journaling, meditating, swimming and rewriting my business plan; giving it the space, time and creativity it needs (and maybe writing my memoirs, smoking a pipe and growing a beard in my solitude!).

I’m sorry if you were hoping to book a sup or cycle at Normanville, but I’m not ready yet. I’ve postponed my permit for February to May, and there’s still overnight kayak trips and surf camps on the schedule.

I’m excited to come back from the island with a clearer vision of where this ship is heading, and how to be more effective in helping to get more of YOU out THERE experiencing your BODIES and experiencing ADVENTURE!

It’s pretty wild how must imposter syndrome I felt coming in to leading and assessing university students. I was wondering just how much knowledge and skill I would be able to pass on to them…

Turns out, the answer was quite a lot! I’ve gained a fair wad of knowledge, skills and experiences in the 9 years of outdoor guiding since graduating 🤪 fancy that!

What an awesome feeling to be helping guide the next cohort of outdoor educators, especially when they’re from my very own 💛

Great to see that these future leaders are empathetic, environmentally conscious, culturally conscious, minimal-impact, holistic in their practice, and ready to impart their practical and social skills on to the next generation 🙌

📢Advice needed! 📢

I’m applying for the women in innovation grant and making my value proposition for producing, publishing and marketing a series of online courses for helping women and girls get outdoors (think video tutorials, packing lists, emergency procedures, etc.)

Does anyone have:
1. A more appealing value proposition for scaling enliven outdoor adventures?
2. Any videographer contacts/ online course creation contacts who I could get a quote from for this project proposal?

How epic is this beach shelter from ! Not only are the team at Snowys knowledgeable and friendly, but their gear is so good!

The legends at Snowys gave enliven the opportunity for us to put this inflatable beach shelter to the test on our 3 SurfCamps earlier this year. Safe to say, we loved it!

So inspiring!! Has anyone been watching Adelaide outdoor babe Trisha Lindgren? I only recently found Trisha online, and she’s now also a qualified bushwalking guide! This is your daily reminder that it’s never too late to start your journey to a healthy life, and you’re never “too old”, “too big”, “too unfit” to get outdoors! Nature doesn’t judge. What a powerhouse of a woman! Well done Trish! Can’t wait to meet ya!

📣I’ve got some wildly exciting news!📣

Bikes have always been a part of my life. I’ve cycled around KI, driven across Aus with my steed on the roof, and I was the first female rider for EcoCaddy. I’ve always owned one or two bikes, but I just found out that I now get the absolute privilege of playing with 33 VINTAGE FOLDING PEURGEOT BIKES for Enliven!

Dan Ryan has literally given away his bike hire business to me to help get more of you all riding and to help grow my business! 🚲So to pay it forward, as suggested by Dan, I’ll be donating 1% of the profits from the bikes to who give 100% of their donations directly to the field of communities living in poverty. Some of my long-term enliven customers have volunteered for them for years, so I’ve seen how much love and dedication goes into the work they do. 💕

The future isn’t set, but I’m seeking approvals for offering beachside bike hire for all genders next summer, as well as women’s group rides plus hopefully festivals/ events bike hire! Look out South Australia!

A huge thanks to Dan for supporting entrepreneurialism in SA and for believing in me! 🙏🏼

Watch this space! Can’t wait to get more people out on bikes! 🚲

It’s been an awesome season of women’s outdoor adventure alongside great colleagues like , , , , , .sa , , .

Amazing what you can achieve when good people come together! Very grateful for all of these supportive folks working to bring more good to the world!

Thanks to all of the customers I had the pleasure of paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing and bushwalking with since October!

It was a cracking good sunset sup to end with on Saturday night! Can’t wait to see what next season brings 🙏🏼🥰

This morning I walked in my hometown, like I have probably hundreds of times before, but I decided to go up a different road I’d never been up before. I saw a whole different view of Lady Bay, I chatted to a local cyclist who was enjoying the hill climbs, I made friends with a mob of kangaroos, and I returned home feeling different. 🤔

I’m going to Tassie tomorrow, and I can’t wait to walk around and explore new places, but I love that you can get the exact same feelings of curiosity, newness and a different perspective if you’re willing to look for it, even in your backyard 🧐

That’s the beauty of the Myponga Kayaking day trip. Most of the women on Sunday had been to Myponga before, but not many of them had seen the reservoir from the water, or been still enough to really notice all of the beauty that’s there. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Safe to say that most of those women wouldn’t have been brought to tears with the sense of closeness and feeling truly seen with strangers before, but it happened on Sunday! I can’t share with you how or why. You had to be there.

And you can be there with me… next season 😉

🍁Autumn Equinox is a time for re-establishing balance and grounding after a potentially hasty start to the new year.

During this time of equal day and night, we can spend time honouring where we’re at and the cycles of change, welcoming in regeneration and rest as the cooler months eventually settle in.
