Did you know the Giant Cuttlefish Sanctuary Zone joined the Australian National Heritage List earlier this year?

A list dedicated to recognising natural, historic and Indigenous places of significance to the nation. It is no surprise these intriguing, mystical creatures are making headlines and have definitely earnt their place on the list. The Upper Spencer Gulf Marine Park in Whyalla is the only known place in the world where this mass congregation occurs, migrating in the thousands every winter to breed. The importance of national recognition opens the door to further research and allows these fascinating creatures to continue thriving and breeding for years.
