The perfect summer combo? A crisp, refreshing bevvy from Kangaroo Island Brewery 🍻

When on KI, make a pitstop at the island’s first cellar-door microbrewery. Set on 20 acres, there’s space for kids to play while couples and friends relax in the paddock, on the deck, or inside the rustic taproom.

Kick back, sip and soak up the island vibes!

Kangaroo Island’s ties to early US maritime history are being revived in an incredible way! 🛠️ A team is rebuilding a replica of the ship that carried the first American sealers to Australian shores in the early 1800s.

This ambitious project isn’t just about crafting a vessel, it’s about celebrating the fascinating bond between two nations and preserving a piece of maritime history for future generations.

Read more about it below 👇🏻

It started as a quick job to replace a rotting model boat at the entrance to the town of American River on Kangaroo Island, but it grew into a much bigger project: to build a full-size, operational replica of the sailing ship.

Resident and freight fares are controlled and regulated by government in accordance with an indexation mechanism.

Resident and freight fares applicable from 1 July are provided to SeaLink by government following the application of an indexation mechanism, generally the last price indicator made available will be the December CPI values for any given year.

Once we are in receipt of the indexed fare values from government these are then loaded in the system. It is anticipated that the indexed resident fare(s) will be advised by mid-February 2025, consistent with previous years. All residents will be advised as soon as these are available.

Currently the online booking system defaults to visitor fares as we do not have a resident fare loaded post 30 June 2025. We anticipate that the system will be amended to support resident online bookings on Monday 13 January 2025 – and will then subsequently be updated with the indexed fares as soon as these are received from government.

We appreciate that this process creates frustration and in this instance some confusion – the same approach has been applied within the booking system for resident fares for the last few years.

For residents seeking to book ferry travel after 1 July 2025, please call our Sales Centre on 13 13 01.

Take a glimpse inside the new Kangaroo Island ferries! We are excited to share a preview of the future of ferry travel to Kangaroo Island with a virtual fly-through of our new larger state-of-the-art ferries, Wanggami and Ruwi, expected to arrive in the first half of 2025.

The virtual fly-through showcases the new drive-through vehicle loading, the modern and spacious interior, and the comfort our passengers can look forward to experiencing on their journey.

The new Kangaroo Island Ferry Service and larger ferries will improve the customer experience with increased vehicle capacity, more daily departures, easier vehicle loading and offloading, and improved lounges and amenities.

Next week, we’ll share an exciting update on the vessel’s build progress.
