🌼✌️ Our fabulous team of staff and volunteers had a great day yesterday! We went on a famil to check out five amazing accommodation providers. Backpackers at 1770, Sunbird Gardens & Accomm1770, 1770 Beach Shacks, Captain Cook Holiday Village and Cool Bananas Backpackers 1770. It was terrific to see what each of you have to offer with our own eyes. 🙏🏼😊

🥪 We wrapped up the morning with a delicious lunch at one of G.A.P.D.L’s newest members, La Caravana - Cafe & Catering.

Massive thanks to all the accommodation hosts and La Caravana for your warm hospitality.

A reminder that the annual bass closure starts first thing tomorrow morning and runs until the end of August. 🚨🛑🐟

Australian bass migrate to parts of estuaries for spawning during the winter months. 🥶

This closure protects them so they can remain a popular catch for many generations to come.

Bass is a no-take species in all Queensland tidal waters during the closure.

🌊🚍 Some of our staff & volunteers just had the most amazing adventure with 1770 LARC! Tours 🚍🌊

Riding in that big PINK amphibious vehicle was a blast—part bus, part boat, all fun! 😄 We explored coastal landscapes, splashed into the water, and felt like adventurers on a mission!

Our guide Mick was fantastic, sharing cool facts and stories about the area's history along the way.

📸 Photo ops galore—group selfies on the LARC!, stunning ocean views, and hilarious 'losing my hat' videos. Don't forget your camera!

🌞 Whether you're local or visiting, this tour is a MUST for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. Can't wait to do it again! Thanks, 1770 LARC! Tours, for an unforgettable day! 🎉

Thank you so much for your help in finding us a way to visit the Great Barrier Reef when our original tour to Lady Musgrave was cancelled.

We had an amazing time on Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort! The sun came out and the snorkeling was fantastic- other guests said it was the most turtles and fish they had seen all week. 😄

We couldn’t have made this happen without your knowledge and quick action to help us out. Thanks again!

What a fabulous bunch of volunteers we have at our centre! We spent last Sunday celebrating them and the year 2023 together on the new experience in 1770 1770 Sunset Cruises What a lovely afternoon of scrumptious platters, perfect company, laughter and a little bit of fun. I really can't thank these ladies enough for all that they do for our centre & region! Thanks again to Jodi & Rhys for hosting us as well, we LOVED every minute of your cruise.

Can you believe it’s November next week? let’s dive right in & make 2023 one to remember!

Dive Schedule for next week: Certified divers and experienced snorkelers welcome. All locations and dives are subject to weather conditions.
We have a Pool refresher running on Thursday 2nd (can be done anytime, just give us a call), and an Open Water Course starting on the 4th, with reef dives on the 11th and 12th November. Be certified in time for summer !!!

We look forward to seeing you out on the reef 🐢
