Our Story: Luxury Yachts Whitsundays was created by Cumberland Charter Yachts in 2016 to accommodate luxury yacht hire in the Whitsundays. Cumberland Charter Yachts was founded in 1981, constantly adapting to meet market needs and as the leading bareboat operator, the first c

ompany to introduce catamarans for charter back in the early 90s. We pride ourselves on providing an innovative website with online booking and availability, a client portal called the “Charter Centre” designed to assist guests to plan their holiday and information to ensure safe practices in the marine park. We are conveniently based at Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach, Whitsundays, Queensland. The principals have extensive background in boating along with many years marketing and general business experience. Our company has an excellent position in the market place due to our long-standing stability over the years. Cumberland Charter Yachts is Australian owner operated with our Vessel Manager (Terry Kemp) joining the company in 1985, the Managing Director (Charlie Preen) in 1998 and General Manager (Sharon McNally) joining in 2010. Our 30 years experience in the charter industry, provides you peace of mind. From the moment you arrive at our base at Abell Point Marina you enjoy easy loading and all modern amenities at your fingertips with shopping and restaurants just moments away. We have sailing and power catamarans, sailing yachts and fly bridge motor cruisers in a range of sizes. Our maintenance team are highly skilled and our vessels are maintained to the highest standard, your safety is our priority. Responsible Business:
CCY is responsible for the national park’s wellbeing, ensuring future generation’s enjoyment. All guests are fully briefed on their impact on the reef and its eco system. Every charter undertakes a 4 hour briefing before departure where a qualified mariner covers all safety aspects of the vessel, the area, anchoring, mooring and snorkeling best practices. CCY provides a Responsible Reef Practices manual and 100 Magic Miles for clients to refer to pre charter and whilst on board the vessel. CCY are committed to the Great Barrier Reefs sustainability. In 2015 we obtained our Eco Tourism accreditation, CCY are members of the Tourism and Recreation Reef Advisory Committee (TRRAC) an advisory group contributing to issues affecting the management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. CCY are members of Whitsunday Bareboat Operators Association (WBOA)
