Reflection & Gratitude ✨

In true tourism-industry style, I’ve only now found a moment to myself amid the whirlwind of our busiest season, to sit and reflect on the year that was 2024.

Whilst having this time to truly reflect on GSHP and its journey up until now, I never could have imagined that jumping in the deep end and starting my own business managing just one property The Lookout Albany_ would be one of the best decisions I’ve made yet.
I never could have imagined how far I’d come, how much I’d learn, how much GSHP would evolve, the amount of personal and professional growth I’d achieve and the community that would be created.

From bringing on 5 more carefully selected properties, to finding the absolute DREAM TEAM of staff to work along side. To truly understanding how important it is to stand strong by your vision, and that it’s ok to just stay in your own lane but can also change directions when needed. From building connections and collaborating with other local businesses and the joy and camaraderie that comes with that. To reinforcing to myself that passion, dedication, kindness and drive will get you a long way, and that saying no to some things is actually prioritising other things.

It’s funny, as I write this I keep going back and rewriting the perspective from “I” to “GSHP”, and then back to “I” again. It makes me realise just how intertwined this business is with me and who I am. Supporting GSHP is supporting me, and supporting me is supporting GSHP. And for all those who have done and continue to do just that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

An especially big thank you to my wonderful husband Alan Pietersen. You are my biggest cheerleader, and your never-wavering encouragement, support, love and handy-man skills have played such a massive part in this story, Thankyou.

To wake up every day, excited to see what the day brings and dive into my job that I made happen, that I manifested, that I created… Is an absolute dream come true. 2024 was exciting, challenging, rewarding, tiring, fun, emotional, liberating and full of love. I could not wish for a better start to this journey and can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring ✨
