This gorgeous family after booking other holidays with Allsorts Travel over many years decided to go to Bali recently! Their first overseas trip post Covid!!! Staying 6 nights @ The Haven in a 2 bedroom suite in Seminyak and then 3 nights @ Hotel Tjampuhan & Spa in Walter Spies House in Ubud. Megan gave me a budget to work with and I provided an itinerary suiting their requirements. They loved every minute of their holiday. How fantastic does their trip look???

Wow what a fantastic adventure The Maybury family of 5 have had!!!! A few days spent in Fiji as Fiji Airways were much cheaper to USA than direct flights. These guys have done it all! Baseball, huge pizza, National Parks, UTV’s, Basketball, Las Vegas and more!! Of course ending in the “Happiest Place On Earth”, Disneyland! Many months of planning this amazing trip over lunches which certainly paid off as they had a fantastic time!

Hotel Manava Beach Resort & Spa Moorea was the base for this beautiful family for their trip of a lifetime! The Mulholland family timed the trip perfectly for their sole purpose of swimming with humpback whales. Check out these amazing photos of their holiday to Tahiti recently booked by Allsorts travel ❤️

Sadly today our wonderful 2 week holiday in Phuket is coming to an end! Had a fantastic time with family and met some great people along the way! Lucy was so excited to go parasailing yesterday while we spent the morning at the beach.

Last night we had a special dinner at a beautiful restaurant in Phuket Old Town. Brasserie Phuket, magnificent oysters, seafood and finally wine!!!! Wine is quite expensive here so cocktail’s and beer are more affordable! Great timing of fireworks when we got home, kids loved it!!!

Looking forward to updating you all on my next journey, won’t be too far away wherever that may be 🤷‍♀️ ps the tattoo’s are henna (don’t worry dad 😂)

Mostly a lazy day around the pool and then a visit to Phuket Old town. Boutique shops and cute buildings. Then a quick drive to the most amazing place “Chillva Markets”. Loads of weird and wonderful food options and very inexpensive shopping. Highly recommend this place on your next visit to Phuket. ❤️

Yesterday a visit to James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay. Long day but well worth it. Last time we took the large junk, this time a speed boat which is much better. Visit to Ice Cream Cave (hence the hard hats)! More fun this morning at the hotel…a couple of days rest before Phi Phi Island Monday 🌺🍹🏖️. Weather fantastic now rain has stopped for a couple of days! ☀️

Hi all!!!!! I am currently in Phuket celebrating my MIL 21+ (70th) birthday😆! 14 family members in total and what a fantastic time we are having! Flew Singapore Airlines which were excellent!! So far sightseeing has included an Elephant Sanctuary, orientation tour and today Andamanda Waterpark which was a lot of fun! You can hire your own private cabana for 2000THB (around $89AUD). Bargain!!!

Staying at Centara Kata which is great value for money and we decided to upgrade to a one bedroom suite for an extra $45 per night, well worth it! Today is the first day since we arrived without rain! Not just a drizzle but it’s pretty much rained a lot all day, everyday since our arrival 5 days ago! It’s the season here at the moment but hasn’t stopped us doing anything as it’s still hot! Stay tuned for more pics over coming days. ✈️☀️🍹🥰

Day 15 of our Vietnam visit! What else do you do on a hot day and high humidity?? Take a taxi to a waterpark! Our family and some of our new friends from our tour spent the day at Dam Sen Waterpark. Around $15AUD entry per person and spent a fun day keeping cool!

They have some strange rules which we still don’t understand; our interpretation was no zips or buttons or no long sleeve rash vests. As one of our group had a zip on her bathers you could hire bathers for around $1.50AUD. There were many school groups which made the park very noisy and hectic!

Reviews aren’t really accurate, we found the park not too dirty and water was clean enough. Also if you were 140cm you couldn’t go on many rides but our son Max was under this height restriction and still plenty to do! Good food options for a reasonable price! The drive back to the hotel was interesting; organized chaos at the roundabouts 🤔

Day 14 of our Vietnam visit! The luxury of air conditioning!!! Difficult nights sleep at our home stay, we had a reasonably comfortable bed, mosquito nets and a fan but the heat was still trying. A one night experience which is done now!

Our hosts made a delicious breakfast and we relaxed around until after lunch. Drive back to HCMC for some free time and walked our way to a restaurant for our farewell dinner as this was our last night with our new Intrepid friends.

One of the families is spending the day at a water park tomorrow with us so it’s not fully goodbye. Our Intrepid leader Cuong Tran was outstanding and his professional and caring attitude made our holiday to Vietnam amazing!

Day 13 of our Vietnam visit! Max posing in his new gear ❤️. Just over 2 hour drive to Mekong Delta. Very hot today, around 34 degrees! Boat ride with an exceptional lunch and then settled into our home stay for the night. Relaxing, playing cards and general chat amongst our group with a delicious dinner prepared by our host!

Day 12 of our Vietnam visit! Up early today (check out at 7.30am) as we departed Hoi An to visit Ho Chi Minh (HCMC). Lucy and tour buddy Jamie wore their newly tailored dresses for the day….between $30-$40 AUD per dress! Very pretty! 👗

On arrival in HCMC a quick visit to the famous Ben Thanh markets. Very hot inside, very busy and a lot of hassling…..Arrival at our hotel on the Riverside (check out our view from our balcony).

Catch up with the rest of our group in the arvo to see Notre Dame Cathedral and the Saigon Opera House. As the opera house is the perfect setting for a wedding, bride/groom have their photos done up to 1 year before their wedding for the perfect time and location! So different to how we do things in Australia, also fascinating! We saw two brides today all dressed up for the occasion.

Fantastic dinner tonight at Anton restaurant! You can go to the different food stations and decide what to have! After seeing the pork I opted for the sweet and sour pork and for a bit of fun Stu got some escargot for the group to try!!! I decided to pass, they were huge!!!! 🐌 Kids loved them 🙄

I had remembered a roof top bar at the Caravelle Hotel from years ago so we went there for a night cap! Gorgeous views 🍹

Day 11 of our Vietnam visit! Morning bike tour with a cruise on a bamboo boat! Spot of crab fishing but due to my spider phobia Max and I just watched our boat driver try their luck. Fantastic bike ride through rice fields, seeing water buffalo, nice and flat which was a bonus 😊

Afternoon relaxing at our resort with some drinks with our fellow tour group friends. Quick visit to some tailors to collect clothes Lucy and I had made and some other things; like Max’s new hat!!! (You’ll no doubt see that in tomorrow’s post 😁).

For dinner, our group were more than happy to go to a restaurant recommended to me by a friend! Fantastic place, set price of about $9pp and there was plenty of food! Thank you Tony!

The sign has changed but don’t be fooled by the copy restaurant a few doors down!!!! Our last night in Hoi An!!! We have thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here! Perhaps just don’t visit on the weekends!!!

Day 10 of our Vietnam visit! Relaxed morning with a visit to a local beach; Cua Di. Around 10 minute drive from Hoi An. You may not know but I love looking at the beach, hearing it but not swimming in it!!!! I was happy to relax on the lounges and be hassled to buy things from the locals 🙄

Our guide purchased some delicious take away of Banh Mi for our beach picnic! First time I’ve tried this and it was delicious! A baguette filled with meat, paste, lettuce and other greens….yumo! After the beach we tried our cooking skills and made “white rose cake” a traditional Vietnamese street food; a dumpling really!

Then a few hours relaxing by our hotel pool and then the group purchased tickets to Vietnamese Bamboo Circus. Show was quite good, probably a bit pricey for the 60 minutes duration but it was still worthwhile!

Day 9 of our Vietnam visit!!! Travelled the Hai Van pass today from Hue to Hoi An. Shame it was misty the entire time so no opportunity to see the beautiful views. Arrived in Hoi An and went to the Old Town. Saw P**c Kien Assembly Hall and Trieu Chau Assembly Hall. Architecture in both stunning!!! Walk through the markets and to a tailor where Lucy is having a dress made for a very inexpensive price! Approx $32AUD.

I remember Hoi An on my last visit being a lot less touristy, seems very overcrowded now! It’s also the weekend so a lot more locals our guide tells me 🤷‍♀️

Day 8 of our Vietnam visit! Unbearably hot today so we set off reasonably early to visit Thien Mu Pagoda and Khai Dinh Tomb! The grounds were absolutely beautiful at both, gorgeous pics of the water lotus in very beautiful surroundings. At the Pagoda we saw the vehicle that the Buddhist monk Thich Quang Duc drove to a protest in Saigon, vacated the vehicle and set himself on fire. Only his heart remained afterwards which enabled him to be cremated a second time.

Then onto making paper tulips at the paper flower house to support a deaf community that also taught us some basic Vietnamese sign language. I love how Intrepid includes these places in their itineraries!!!! On the way we stopped at an incense shop where I was fascinated to see how this is made and all the amazing colours!!!

Then a sneaky cocktail without the kiddies while they were in the pool accross from the bar!!! Short walk before dinner to try the traditional salt coffee, absolutely delicious!!!! I probably preferred this over egg coffee!!!

The cats in the pictures are taken in a cat cafe! You take your cat for a play while you have a drink…..soooo cute! How’s the carrot dragon that one of our group members had on their lunch plate!!!! Oh and Max purchased some new sunnies and fan today, looking rather 😎 🥰 Loads to do in Hue and great place that should be on everyone’s itinerary when visiting Vietnam!

Day 7 of our Vietnam visit! Difficult sleep on the train but it’s only one night (thank goodness)! Bit of rest in our lovely hotel then off to the barbers for a haircut for Max and cool new sunnies for Lucy! Early afternoon visit of the Imperial city of Hue! Quite a bit hotter here and humid, great city with loads of bars, restaurants and hotels!

Then cyclo tour around the city taking a look at Ho Chi Minh’s family house where he lived whilst at school. Markets with all types of food; I decided only to take pics of the pretty and not pretty weird!!!!

Then back to our hotel and a dinner of the traditional dish from Hue; Bun Bo Hue! I had this noodle dish which is spicy and very fragrant with lemongrass with pork, not beef as it’s also known to have as the main ingredient! Delicious! Toss up for me between Pho in the north (Hanoi) or my new favorite dish!

Day 5 of our Vietnam visit! Long bus ride from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay (approx 4hours) via a ceramic factory. Manual labor and very interesting to watch. 10 large pots can be painted by one person per day.

Arrived into Ha Long Bay where we will spend a night on our junk boat. Full ensuites and private cabins, very comfortable. All meals are included which are delicious. Visit through limestone caves and then a swim in the Bay.

Weather not fantastic but no rain! Still quite polluted sadly in this area but a lot better than many years ago when I visited.

Local market on water to buy our dinner, straight from the water!
