To all my valued past, present and future customers, Unfortunately, this is the sad truth.
This is what's happening in Alice Springs.
Rest assured that we are still open for business until the 1st of October 2023 (that as always been out intention) we are taking bookings and will honor the existing and future ones.
If no bookings will come through from mid September to October, we'll probably shut earlier.

Well, yesterday Uluru, today the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta! Run done and dusted 👍🏃‍♂️
The Valley of the Winds is spectacular and I have walked here with tourists hundreds of times, walking is the best way to do it 👍
You can admire how beautiful the domes are and the magic views, something that you can't possibly do while running. I have run this 7.4 km pretty much constantly watching my steps on uneven, rocky terrain and the risk of an ankle injury is quite high.
However, it's a challenging and nice run, but wouldn't recommend to do this especially if not trained or are an occasional runner, and especially if visiting Kata Tjuta only once! You need to walk to appreciate it 👍
Be careful, getting injured over there (while walking or running) is no joke, always remember that is a remote area.

Well, this morning I drove with a lovely couple from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock Resort and after 10 years guiding in the beautiful Red Centre I found myself with a lot of free time (this afternoon and tomorrow) and blessed with amazing weather ☀️( 25°C) and I just went!
It has been few weeks since I ran this much, so I'm glad I did it here 🇦🇺😁

Yesterday, at the end of a 5-day tour I have been invited by my clients to have a pizza in Todd Mall.
Picked up the clients from their hotel and parked behind John Flynn memorial church - CBD at 6.50 pm and then left at 8.20 pm
I didn't realize until this morning the damage.
This is one of my working vehicles.
This town is a joke, as a tour operator and small business owner since 2016 I won't recommend any tourist to stay and spend their money here. I feel sorry for the loss of other businesses, including mine, but there are better, safer, cheaper places to visit and have holidays.
This is the last time I'll go out during the evening, I am done with it. This is a dangerous town and to any customers, tour agency, or inbound operator I will recommend telling their customers to not spend time here.
I am glad I have put my house on sale, I am glad I will be selling everything this year. I was planning to stay until the end of the season (October)but I will do my best to leave earlier.
I am glad my wife got a job 2 years ago in South Australia and we moved there. She applied to that job because she had enough before I did, even getting punched at work by a customer. She will never come back to Alice. I have been coming back to town last year and back again this year for the tourist season.
We lived in Alice since April 2013 then the town was nice and started to get crappy around the end of 2015..
Alice is a town that gave us and where we achieve a lot: friends, a house, a business, and citizenship, we got married in Central Australia.
Unfortunately, now the town is run by Indigenous delinquents which have nothing better to do than smash and vandalize stuff. Delinquents of any age, because if all this damage is done by kids then delinquents are their parents too who allow them to do so and neglect their kids, and delinquent is the government who does not punish them.

Welcome to Central Australia, Welcome to the NT.

Done with it, I will take my abilities, invest and spend my time and money somewhere else ASAP.
In the meantime when I will pick up people from the Ghan station today, I will show them the 'culture' on my vehicle.

Wrap up of this 2022 season! 😎

Outback Elite Tours is now closed until the end of March 2023.
We won't run any tours or transfers until then. However, our admin side of the business will stay open, and we are already taking bookings for 2023 and quickly filling our calendar for the next season.

During this 2022, we have been operating from the end of March until the end of the first week of October....what a season!
We have been extremely busy with VIP day tours around Alice Springs, multi-day VIP tours to Uluru Kata Tjuta NP and Watarrka NP, bespoke/personalised charters, VIP language tours in Italian, French and Spanish, and Larapinta Trail transfers.

We managed all just in two, with not many breaks at all between jobs. These have been 6 intense months, we worked hard, and we managed to stay on top of everything, always trying to deliver the best services while keeping the highest standards.

A very special THANK YOU goes to Mattia.🙏
I have known Mattia since 2014, we met while guiding in Central Australia for different companies back in the day. He then moved from Alice for new adventures about 3 years ago.
Before the beginning of the season, I was ready to start it just by myself, as when I started the business in 2015. Shortage of available and experienced tour guides was (and still is, after 2 x COVID years) a major issue in Central Australia. So, I was ready to do everything myself.
However, I texted Mattia just 2 days before heading back to Alice Springs, asking if he was interested to work for Outback Elite Tours. I had very little hope, my text was more like a joke, as I thought he had no interest in coming back to Alice, but to my surprise, he replied to me: "Just give me 2 days, and I will drive down there!"

He has been an absolute soldier!
Never late, reliable and professional. He fully embraced the Outback Elite Tours style, which always aims to deliver the best for our clients. His name is all over the Outback Elite Tours' 5 stars TripAdvisor reviews! 🤣

The best part is that Mattia confirmed his availability for the all 2023 season and I am so looking forward to having him again at Outback Elite Tours for another awesome year! 😎

We are now ready way ahead for next year!
What we'll do?
The same as this year, but always better!
There will be some news and some new products, including VIP day and multi-day language tours in Italian 🇮🇹, Spanish 🇪🇸 and French 🇫🇷
We'll always offer tours in English 🇬🇧 of course!

Today has been the day!😎

The first vintage tour with the 1977 Mercedes Benz 300D from Alice Springs to Standley Chasm. Thanks and congrats to Caterina and Roberto for making the booking and for being the first customers ever to join this kind of experience!😁

There is a bit of a story behind this...
Three months ago I decided to purchase the vehicle which I randomly saw on the carsales website, I knew the model. My uncle who's passionate about these cars had a 240D model 11 years ago back in Italy and kept it for a bit. We shared some good memories of that car, drove to parties and laugh so much about how slowly it was going and how old it was!🤣

Anyhow, once I got the car, I told myself: "Hey! I'm going to have the bloody thing TV plated (tourist vehicle) and start running tours with it!"😱

And here we are, ready to share and make some great memories of your tour in the heart of Australia!👍

Lest we forget ❤️ Today, Anzac Day services are being held at dawn to commemorate the brave Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in war and service to their country. If you're ever in Australia on April 25, it's worth the early start to take part in a dawn service - it's a poignant experience. For those travelling the country outside of ANZAC Day, you may like to head to our nation's capital Visit Canberra, where you can visit the Australian War Memorial and leave a poppy on the Honour Roll as a small token of respect. Outback Elite Tours has now stopped operations until the end of March 2022.
Then we'll be up and running tours and Larapinta transfers as usual....COVID, new or old restrictions and lockdowns permitting...
We are still working in admin, taking bookings and scheduling the upcoming 2022 season.
This 2021 has been devastating, hard and stressful...not a fun roller coaster ride...
Since 2016 when we started operating, we never really closed during summer even if bookings or tourism in Central Australia have always been lower during this period of the year. However this year there is no real point to stay open...there are not enough tourists, there are still lockdowns in place, still borders closed, still restrictions....
We are looking forward to having all our customers who had to cancel their holidays last year, back in 2022 in Central Australia. Obviously welcoming the new ones!
In the future, when making an online booking, give preference to a direct booking with us instead of booking through an online travel agency (Viator, Tripadvisor, GetyourGuide etc).
Support businesses 100% and directly (commissions for businesses getting bookings via online travel agency are usually 25% and more.)
