The economy is not 'Sydney' and the flow on effects have been devastating for tourism country wide as there is no confidence for people to travel.

Meanwhile on the international front the ITO's have been utilizing their comprehensive skills in dealing with cancellations and rebooking travels to Australia that they nor their clients can be sure will be able to eventuate.

A huge intellectual resource and network that keeps my business amongst many many others going is being left to die with no certainty and no support.

My business is in the Barossa in South Australia - not a hot spot but definitely feeling the heat.

I hope to be in business in the future with the great support of the ITO's that bring travelers to experience this great country but at this stage cant be certain due to border closure both state and international. I'm not alone.

According to the World Tourism Organization, Australia grossed the world's 8th highest spend from international tourism in 2019, generating $60.8 billion in direct tourism gross domestic product (GDP). Some local folklore which I hope works

🌧 Today is "Siebenschläfer", the day which in German folklore, is supposed to determine the weather for the next seven weeks. If it rains today, we are meant to get seven weeks of continuous rain 🤞🏻

🌬 This weather lore was brought to the Barossa by the first German settlers and, while some consider it to be a bit of a myth, it certainly sparks a conversation each year!

🍇 Siebenschläfertag (Seven Sleepers Day) on June 27 is a feast day which honours the legend of the Seven Sleepers, as well as one of the best-known bits of traditional weather lore remaining in German-speaking Europe!

🗿 The legend of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus was first presented by Jacob of Serugh around 500 AD and later popularized by Gregory of Tours. Its Western version was part of the widely distributed Golden Legend hagiography collection compiled by Jacobus de Varagine about 1260.
