Just about time to fire up for another year. Welcome 2025. We are off to a great start with the purchases of two school bus contracts and buses. So as from the start of term one, we will be operating the school bus services out of Lake Tyres Mission, "Former Florance's" from Nowa Nowa and the Mount Taylor school run of Bob McCoy. Both Katrina and Bob have operated these runs for several years. We would like to thank you both and wish you all the best in the future.
We also have taken delivery over another new Volvo B8R fleet number 44.
A big thank you to Brad Schulz and George Stavrinou for the handover, also Ange Batista of Imageworks Signs for working over the long weekend so the buses could start their runs with our livery on them. Once again you guys have done an outstanding job.
Last but not least, we would like to welcome Robert Duncan on board our team. Rob is going to do a school run and also learn the internal running of the office. We are very excited to have you on board, Rob.

I enjoy a sense of humour and a laugh so whoever did this, well played 🤣. Just hope if it exists, it’s not as big and ugly!

On a more serious note I’ve had some conversations with Fisheries this mornng and at this stage it is simply a warning to be vigilant and stay out of the Mitchell based on a credible report from an angler who is a shark fisher.

Public will be by far the most prevalent set of eyes while it’s monitored. A sensible a calm approach.

I'd like to express a big thank you to Trubus for an awesome job on repairing the back of this Hino school bus. It was rear-ended in Yarram a few weeks ago. While it was in the panel shop waiting for a rear bumper to come in, we discussed to paint it white and get it looking like one of our fleet. I'm very happy with the way it has came up. Big thank you to Johnny and the team at Trubus. Angelo Batista from Imageworks signs put our livery on it this week and it has come up a treat.
Great job Ang. We delivered it back to Yarram today and met up with Shelley that has driven it from new and she didn't recognise it at all Lol. She thought it was a different bus altogether.
I recommend Trubus and Imageworks signs 100%!

BREAKING NEWS.
As the day comes to an end, I would like to announce that after 57 years of service, driving school buses, coaches, from job including trips from schools to pools, local charters, tours and extended tours all over Australia, can you believe that Ian Gillick has hung up the hose. Yes, he is not going to renew his driver's certificate as it has come up for renewal. He finished up tonight on his favourite school run which is Flaggy Creek. After his retirement in 2018, he has help us out mostly with this run in the 6 months he is home.
I must admit when he pulled Bus # 36 into the depot this afternoon, it was a bit of an emotional moment for us all. We would all like to wish you and Glenda all the best travel around and spending time in the place they both love in Midge Point.
We all know you will still be up the depot when you get home and you will be shifting buses around and relocating a few around to our various depots.
Because you can't just stop, lol.
But you know you are always welcome to come visit your baby. We will keep working hard to build that baby just like you, Glenda and Margaret would want to see.
Thank you to my best mate and my bloody fantastic father for our time working together. Seventeen years since I started with Gillicks Buslines, I look at these time as being very precious and quality time together with my Dad. I'm a very lucky man. Also in the early days when Glenda started working in the office and running the business before Colin Cathcart took your role over. You and Glenda have done an amazing job too. You got the office back into the office and not all over the front floor of the Falcon ute you had at that time lol.

Thank you to you both again for your help and efforts since we took the reins six years ago.

What a hell of a milestone. 👏

Gillicks Buslines have a school bus driver job available in Sale. This position will be around 30 hours a week. We also operate coaches on v/line rail replacement and charter. So there is a good opportunity for hours.
You will need.

• Heavy Rigid Drivers Licence.
• Working with Children Certificate.
• ( D.C ) Certificate and Police Check.
• Also a good working ethic and be able to work and maintain a vehicle in a clean and tidy way.

After 38 years of running buses and coaches and washing then by hand, we have finally invested in an automatic bus wash. As the fleet has grown to the mid 20s, it will be a much appreciated tool. Cutting washing time massively. Thank you to the team at SpeedyWash for your fantastic service and introduction of the wash.

Gillicks Buslines have just taken delivery of their second new B8 Volvo (fleet number 39)with two more on the way. A big thank you to go out to Brad Schulz and the Volvo crew for there fantastic service and also Jason Eldred and Irizar for the great service over the years we have been dealing with you. We pride ourselves on clean, modern and safe coaches that are also driver-friendly with the Volvo Irizar package that delivers well.

Marly point weekend.

It is fantastic to be a part of this awesome event. I have done the transferring of the sailors from Paynesville to Marlay Point for many years now.

Well it's just about time for the first term of 2024 to start. Tomorrow, in fact!
We would like to wish everyone a happy year. Also, Gillicks Buslines would like to announce the takeover of two school contracts and buses that will start work tomorrow. We would also like to welcome two new team members to our wonderful crew.
Mick, who will be doing the Fernbank Run (ex Carrison's) and Mandy on our Yarram Hiawatha Run (ex Jackson's.) We would like to wish the Jacksons all the best for their retirement.
The two buses have cleaned up really well. Looking fantastic. A big thank you to Robbo's Panels specialising in heavy truck and bus repairs and Angelo Batista, our awesome sign writer for their efforts. 👌
We are all set for a big year with all the fleet looking great. 👍🏻

Good afternoon friends and followers. On behalf of Honey, Ian, Glenda, Marg, Col, myself and the team at Gillicks Buslines, we would like to wish all our valued clients and staff a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and safe New Year. Yesterday afternoon we took delivery of our new fleet number 36. It is now in the shed getting the livery put on as we speak. Then tomorrow off on it's first job to Melbourne zoo for the day with Bryce Hallett doing the maiden voyage. A big thanks to Jason Eldred from Irizar on his 100th delivery for the year and Brad Schulz from Volvo Australia for the delivery yesterday. It was great to catch up with you two last night for a nice dinner and drinks. As this is my first new Volvo, I'm looking forward to see how it goes. It is a B8R euro 6.
