Telling Tales in Balingup- A Childrens Storytelling Festival
Held over the weekend of 12/13th July this Winter school holidays, this event is designed for children aged 4yrs – 14yrs
Following on from the success of the first Telling Tales in Balingup in 2010 our community event has gone from strength to strength, and each year has seen children enjoy this fun and affordable creative weekend.
Many published WA authors and illustrators present interactive workshops throughout the weekend. Multiple sessions on offer at any given time allow you to select a session which best suits you and your children.
This year will see interactive workshops and performances with illustration, creative writing, songwriting, photography, drama, dress-ups and of course, storytelling.
The parade is a highlight of the Saturday, and we encourage everyone to dress up as their favourite story character and join in the fun.
The parade takes place on Saturday lunchtime and this year will follow a new route from the Balingup Community Forest Garden and through the Village Green to the main street.
Adults may accompany the children to the workshops, or enjoy a coffee in the local cafés or browse the many interesting retail outlets. Balingup is renowned for its fabulous events and this Festival is sure to be a weekend worth attending!
