There's no other Aussie state quite like Tassie. It's got the cleanest air in the world for one, it's got unique landscapes, creative locals, endless food producers, wineries, distilleries, antique stores, local artisans and more.
Here are some places you absolutely MUST visit when heading to the Apple Isle:
✨ Hobart. The state capital, the most likely place you'll fly into, and worth staying for a few days. There's Mona of course, Mt Wellington, the Salamanca Markets and more,
✨ Richmond and the Coal River Valley. Just 20-minute out of Hobart head here for a day hopping from winery to winery (with a designated driver), and check out the beautiful old buildings in Richmond.
✨ Ross. A little known stop in the midlands, this town is a fairytale village filled with historic sandstone buildings and historic sites.
✨ Port Arthur. One of Australia's most important historical convict sites, dating back to 1830, this is a sobering and fascinating site.
✨ Maria Island. Along the east coast, this wildlife sanctuary with historic ruins, mountainous cliffs and beautiful bays is a haven for hikers and adventure seekers with cycling trails, bird-watching spots and cute and cuddly wombats!
✨ Wineglass Bay. Possibly the most photographed scene in Australia, the views speak for themselves.
✨Bay of Fires. Stretching 50km, the orange lichen-covered granite boulders, bright white sands and clear blue waters are an incredible site. Visit for a day, or do a multi-day hike for an immersive experience.
