After a thoroughly enjoyable trip to Montenegro earlier this year, Beck and I decided on another trip to the Balkans. This time, we travelled to Saranda on the Albanian Riviera.

From Saranda, we were able to experience a mix of activities and adventures, including a visit to an archaeological park, a castle, monastery ruins, a nature reserve, a winery as well as stunning beaches, using public transport and also on an organised group boat tour.

We look forward to writing some Albanian travel guides about some of the lesser-known places we visited. Stay tuned!

Before travelling to Montenegro this year, Beck and I visited Sicily in April. It was our second time visiting the largest island in the Mediterranean.

As usual, we tried our best to get off the tourist trail, and onto the beaten track, exploring hiking trails across the island.

We look forward to updating our Sicily hiking guide when time allows!

Exploring a UNESCO World Heritage Site, walking through charming towns, trekking mountains, boat trippin', kayaking an extraordinary bay, climbing up historic forts and swimming in caves – these are just a few of our favourite things to do in Kotor and Perast in Montenegro 🇲🇪

Discover the jewel of Kotor with a wonderful weekend trip to Perast Montenegro and enjoy the varied delights of this old Venetian town.

Beck and I are really excited to be heading up to Scotland in a couple of weeks to hike the heck out of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

To get ourselves prepared, we've been upping the ante with our hiking mileage over the last couple of months.

We've been exploring a lot of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and have been absolutely loving it.

There is one particular adventure that we've done recently that deserves a shoutout. And, that's exploring the incredible Gaping Gill.

To find out more about exploring Gaping Gill, read here: https://travelmademedoit.com/gaping-gill/

A shoutout to Sunblesa UK for the awesome headlamp. It's definitely come in handy over the last few weeks when we've been exploring caves in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

For information about the 13 best hikes in Sicily, have a gander at our big Sicily hiking guide. This is the 31st guide (and final guide, for now) we wrote about Sicily and is a nice recap of our favourite hikes on the island.

Anyway, our next hiking trip will be to Loch Lomond in Scotland. We can't wait to head up north for some hiking in the sublime Scottish Highlands 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Other than the breathtaking beaches in the Zingaro Nature Reserve, we think Favignana – the largest of the Egadi Islands, has some of the best rugged and remote beaches in Sicily. Beck and I cycled around Favignana on an epic day trip from Trapani.
