We recently camped in one of our vans at Yack Forest camp #7 and had a blast! Thanks to the Wikicamps app, we had a good idea what to expect with the informative reviews (5 stars 🌟, uploaded photos, fees info (FREE!) and an overview of the facilities. $9.99 from the App Store and worth every cent! We highly recommend this app.

Buckland Valley 🏕️
This is a gem of the high country and currently our top favourite place to camp.

There are 12 free campsites located along the Buckland river so take your pick! If one’s a bit too crowded you can just drive along to the next one. Most of the campsites have a drop toilet and plenty of flat sites for caravans.

Picture yourself sitting by the campfire🔥 with a beverage in hand. Your home for the night set up on the grassy flat and shaded by majestic eucalypts. Close your eyes and hear the yellow-tailed black cockatoos calling out as they fly overhead leaving you with the sounds of the Buckland river cascading by.

Our top sites would be Schippens Flat, Leinster Flat and Headrace Flat. Pictured below is Ah Young’s campsite which is the first and usually the busiest as you follow the Buckland Valley road out from Porepunkah roundabout. ✨ 🚐
