The High Country Balloon International organisers, incorporating the Australian National Balloon Championships, have announced a new date for the event. Originally scheduled for May 2025, the event will now take place in November 2025.

This decision reflects our commitment to delivering a great event for all participants, spectators, and stakeholders. While significant progress has been made in preparations, the additional time will allow us to further enhance the event, ensuring it is an unforgettable celebration of ballooning.

"We are confident that the additional months of preparation will enable us to build on the solid groundwork already in place," said Paul Gibbs, on behalf of the organising board. "By moving the event to November 2025, we can navigate the tough sponsorship market and build a better foundation to see the event continue annually. "

The new dates for the event will be as follows :
Sat 8th Nov - Opening event and balloon glow
Sun 9th Nov - First practice flight
10 to 15 Nov - Competition flying

Great morning for a flight over the King Valley with four balloons in the sky. We rode a westerly towards the east and almost made it to our target at Glenbosch Wine Estate. Next time!

TEAM AUSTRALIA IN THE HOUSE!!

The full team has now arrived in Szeged, Hungary for the World Championships and we are ready to go.

Tonight was the opening ceremony and it was a very special time with teams from 30 country's presented to the crowd.

The weather is looking like our biggest challenge this week and we may only have a 5 flight Worlds with a bit of wind and rain over the next two days.

We are here and we.are ready!!!

Balloon Association members have enjoyed the last 9 days in Mildura at the Mildura Big Bash celebrating 20 years since the World Championships were held there. Thanks to the organising committee, and all involved 2 of our members took 1st and 3rd place 🏆🥇🥉

Thursday 23 May AM. Today’s launch is competitors’ choice where they try to launch from the best place based on the tasks set. The last task is Goorambatt oval which will be the best place to see the balloons today at around 7:30am. Please stay outside the oval fence if you come to watch.
