Worth a listen.

Newly arrived communities can be more vulnerable to climate change and during climate events, they are often among the most severely affected. Through the story of the Karen community in Bendigo, see how we can adapt to climate change with a strength-based, social justice approach.

There is still time to book into this workshop, on this weekend!!

Workshop: The One Hour Dress with The Craftorialist
It is 100 years since the so-called One Hour Dress was popularised among home sewists in 1924 – and it is still a beautifully wearable dress today!
Infinitely customisable and flattering on most body types, the pattern is extremely easy to create and to sew.
In honour of the Bendigo Art Gallery’s exhibition, Paris: Impressions of Life 1880–1925, this two day workshop will show you how to make a pattern from your own measurements, and sew your own One Hour Dress.

POOL UPDATE!!

We can publicly say we have been given an extension to stay open until May 12 th 2024 as we continue to work through financial arrangements with the council . This takes us to the start of the ‘traditional’ winter season commencement.

We need to take a new fee schedule to councillor briefings April 8th then get them to pass it at council meeting April 30th so that it can be officially adopted before the winter season commences (we need a 30% price increase across all winter tickets/season pass to assist with costs)
The reduced public operational hours we have modelled are weekdays 6 – 10 am then 3 – 7 pm and weekends 10 – 2 pm (also 10 – 2 pm public holidays ).

I think we will be able to demonstrate overwhelming support from public and our regular users at the briefing and council meeting whilst also demonstrating we are financially sustainable moving forwards.

More details for public consultation will come soon.

Happy Easter everyone.

From the Bendigo East Pool Committee

I've been called out to a few "unusual" places for snakes, but the 5th level of the multi level car park next to the reject shop in the Bendigo CBD has never been on my radar. 🤷

A little red Bellie Black Snake was noticed slithering around in the 5th level of the carpark, obviously very displaced and disoriented. 🐍

I would suggest it's very likely the snake may have hitched a ride up there, though with the creek line running through the CBD its not out of the realm of probability that the snake may have come from the Rosalind park/ creek area. 🌳

Thanks to the member of public that called it in and kept an eye on the snake until I arrived. 👍

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! Tilly’s Bluebird is going to remain open 🥰

All your messages of support have been overwhelmingly and I’m not ready to say goodbye to my business so I’ve come up with an alternative plan to continue operating. Starting now, I’ll be doing deliveries once a week, every Monday. I’m eager to see how this adjustment works out in the coming weeks.

I’d greatly appreciate your support if Monday deliveries are convenient for you 🍎

Here are the details:
Delivery Day: Every Monday (Tuesday in case of a public holiday on Monday).
Order Cut-off: The deadline for placing orders will be 6 pm on Sunday night.
Service Details: Expect the same excellent service and quality you’re used to; deliveries might occur later in the afternoon than before.

Thank you for being an integral part of my little business, Tilly’s Bluebird 💙

IMPORTANT NEWS

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that The Good Loaf Sourdough Bakery and Café will be closing at the end of December.

Unfortunately, the prospect of increased rent, demanding lease conditions, and staff shortages had made the continued operation of the bakery unsustainable.

For 15 years, we have loved seeing your faces, sharing a morning chat and bringing joy to your families with our sourdough bread. The love of our community, team members, suppliers and of course you our loyal customers have brought us much joy and friendship.

Our final day of trade will be December 29, we hope that we can see you one more time before we close.

Our Monash Uni location will continue to operate, with some product changes.

Laurie and The Good Loaf team.🧡
