We stayed a night at Lake Louise Inn, and early in the season so the lake was still covered by ice. Emerald Lake made up for it as did all the waterfalls. The road between Lake Louise and Jasper must be in the top 3 in the world for scenery. Next was a night at Jasper Inn & Suites before taking a sleeper cabin on Via Rail to Vancouver. The rail trip was a great experience and in Vancouver we stayed at the YWCA Hotel which is at the foot of Robson St so in the thick of the eating and shopping district. Stanley Park walk 2.5 hours duration and Granville Market were highlights of Vancouver. Lots of Hockey finals on for the last two weeks of the trip so lots of excitement in all cities. We will definitely be back and the Rockies were the best part of the trip despite many highlights. Safe, friendly and similar in cost to Australia so no reason not to start planning your next adventure. LOTS OF PHOTOS, read the comments.

We left Montreal by flight with Air Canada (4 hours) to Calgary and jumped on a Brewster's Coach for the 2 hour transfer to Banff. Stayed 2 nights at Banff Aspen Lodge which was great. That night we did a 3 hour Wildlife coach tour. The Northern lights were amazing here from the photos we saw. Just not appearing on our nights however. c'est la vie. Next day hiked up Tunnel Mountain 2.4 km hike with elevation increase 300 metres. Then some walking tracks to see points of interest around town. There is lots to do in Banff including the Gondola up Sulphur Mountain for spectacular views. 22 to 25 degrees at this time of year. The Candian Rockies are definitely worth all the hype

We took a Greyhound Bus from Plattsburgh and managed to survive. 2 hours quicker than the train due to Customs, but our driver admitted she had not been there before, seemed to wander between lanes while looking at maps on A4 sheets and being on her phone while driving. Happy to touch foot on soil when we got there. Montreal as expected was very French with that strong independent attitude French people often have. Very friendly at the same time and enjoyed walking around the old city, dining and mixing with the locals at various establishments.Hit all the tourist spots and for the shoppers amongst you there was plenty on offer. Left Montreal satisfied with a taxi 20 minutes to the Airport for $50 CAD and flew Air Canada to Calgary. Sitting on Brewster's coach for 2 hour transfer to Banff. Excited to be heading to thr Rockies. Calgary is sunny, blue sky's and 25C today.

After 5 days in New York we took Amtrak to Saratoga Springs for a night at the Saratoga Springs Hotel & Casino. Massive Casino size for the population size and it has a Harness Racing track attached. They race 4 days a week, 14 races each day and all 1 mile races. Onwards by Amtrak for 2 nights in Plattsburgh for time to recharge and do the laundry. Very pleasant town and all the usual shops like Walmart and JC Penney and Amtrak was excellent on both journeys, spacious, clean and great service. It was nice to have an apartment to cook after 11 days of eating out. Off to Montreal by Greyhound Bus for next leg of the journey.

We have spent 5 days in New York City. A small selection of photos from a fun packed time. We walked many miles, rode the subway and covered from Downtown to Uptown and east to west. We took a 2 hour insiders tour of Madison Square Gardens, saw the MJ Musical which was awesome, completed a 7 hour tour of the 5 boroughs of NYC being Harlem, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Coney Island. The 2 hour bike tour of Central Park was a highlight. So much history and entertainment on offer. Too much to mention but this City should be on your bucket list to visit soon. Extremely friendly locals everywhere and always felt safe. And we did not have enough time to visit a museum of which there are many, or do any shopping really. Loads of Restaurants/Diners/Food trucks so you will not go hungry. You really need a week at a minimum and planning is paramount, and of course we can help with all of this.

Travelled from Niagara to Buffalo by Flixbus, stayed at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo for a night and then flew Delta to JFK. Easy way from JFK to Manhattan take the Airtrain to Jamaica Station USD $8.50 each, then the LIRR to Penn Station 34th St for only USD $5. All up JFK to Manhattan USD $13.50 each and so easy. Underground is so easy just tap on with credit card @$2.90 per ride. Walked the High Line today and lots to look forward to in the next 4 days. At the Stay Pineapple Hotel in NYC which is compact but has everything you need.

We travelled from Toronto to Niagara Falls today by Flixbus, 90 minutes by road, clean, cheap and comfortable so would recommend. Selection of Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil Falls that make up Niagara Falls. All taken from Canadian side of the border. Everyone is so friendly in Canada, a must place to visit

Sunny 8 degrees in Toronto today. Cherry Blossom Festival time. Not been to Japan for theirs but sure was crowded here today. Shot of CN Tower all 553m from the base. Baseball and Hockey in town for big games.Toronto has a Flatiron building predates NYC by 10 years. Lots of entertainment in Toronto, good restaurants and breweries. Fast efficient cheap underground system. Cost of living slightly cheaper here than at home.Well worth a visit when in Canada. More exploring today and off to Niagara by Flixbus tomorrow.

As you know Michelle has been in Jordan this week on her holiday with Bunnik tours.
Petra was her highlight. It was a strenuous day but worth every minute.
