Who watched the doco on ‘Living With Devils’, last night on ABC. Well Simon Plowright designed the ‘Devils in the Dark’ tour at East Coast Nature World. So if you want to experience close encounters in a natural setting, why not book the Devils in the Dark tour.

It's as wild and natural as it gets, an unforgettable after dark experience watching Tasmanian Devils devour a whole carcass, where all your senses are activated. You’ll be undercover in a spacious hide, watching as if you were a film maker for National Geographic.
You’ll be inches away and literally eye to eye with the worlds largest carnivorous marsupial. All this action while sipping on some of Tasmania's very best wine and cheese. Book online at https://www.natureworld.com.au/devils-in-the-dark

Our Tasmanian devils are on the road to extinction.
Not only has a fearful contagious cancer decimated numbers by 90 per cent in some areas, devils are also being killed increasingly on Tasmanian roads.

Donald Knowler has recently self-published a book, Riding the Devil’s Highway, to draw attention to a colossal incidence of roadkill in our state - dubbed “the roadkill capital of the world” by researchers.

He’s started a petition urging the Tasmanian Government to impose speed restrictions at night in areas which have been identified as roadkill hotspots.

Please sign the petition asking Premier Will Hodgman to act to save the devil and end a broader carnage which sees one animal killed every two minutes on Tasmanian roads, a figure that some estimates put as high as half a million a year. In the devil’s case, there is a very real concern that if the cancer does not drive it to extinction in the wild, the motor car will.

We bought our copy of Donald's book at the Hobart Bookshop

Fantastic feedback thank you

We went on Devils in the Dark last night. Highly recommended!! You really do get a close up look at, in our case, 11 devils - all scrapping around for their share of the staked out wallaby carcass, using their rumps to push others out of the way and yarring fearsomely. Educational in the best possible way. Not the world's greatest photo I know, as it was dark and we couldn't use flash because it scares the devils, but you'll get the idea. Usually $75, their introductory offer is $55. Well worth it!! Oh, as the hide is warm and dry you can still go if it's raining. Devils are not bothered by rain when there's a free feed around. Please share this information with your friends.
