There’s gold in them thar Tassie hills. πŸ’›β›°πŸ‚
TIPS for Fagus Finders ⬇️

πŸ“·: Beauty of Tasmania
πŸ“: Cradle Mountain National Park, Visit North West Tasmania

1️⃣ Autumn sees the leaves of the Fagus change from rust red through to brilliant gold. The peak of Fagus colouring varies from year to year but is usually during late April and early May.

2️⃣ There are many great spots to find Fagus in Tassie.

Mount Field National Park: Drive towards the ski-fields up the Lake Dobson road on the way you'll pass through patches of Fagus easily seen from your vehicle! For a closer look the Tarn Shelf walk is one of the best! (Be sure to check the weather and register your walk)

Cradle Mountain National Park: The Loop Track around Dove Lake is an easy 2-hour walk that passes through some patches of Fagus. The even easier Weindorfers Forest Walk also offers easily accessible Fagus, including trees that are much taller than the more usual stunted alpine form.

3️⃣ Fagus or Deciduous beech (Nothofagus gunnii) is Australia's only cold climate winter-deciduous tree and is found nowhere else in the world except Tasmania. It's magnificent Autumn display is not to be missed.

4️⃣ BONUS FUN FAGUS FACT πŸ‚πŸ˜‰: Fagus is very slow growing, single trees can be more than 350 years old!!

we support development in the right places.....yet am not yet convinced this project fits that description.......the birds and the indigenous history appears as sacrificial issues for the benefit of what or is that who? Surely lessons can be learnt from the past once its gone its gone... our natural unspoilt envirionment is proving to be Tasmanias biggest asset .....so be sensitive to where we let development happen.....is it here?
