We have welcomed Kevla Espresso & Health Food Bar back as a member of Bowen Tourism and Business under new ownership.
Brad was born and bred in Proserpine and always had a dream to own his own café in the region. He grew up watching his parents run a very busy corner store and he went on to manage a local coffee shop before becoming a train driver.
He is now fulfilling his dream and has some fresh ideas for the popular café. Kevla is more than just a café - it’s a welcoming community hub where great coffee meets a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. Kevla proudly serves quality coffee, fresh food, delicious drinks and sweet treats to keep everyone happy. It has a new playground for the kids, a dog friendly space and a team that’s all about great service and good vibes.
The first event is coming up this weekend – Kevla Markets on Saturday March 8 from 9am until 12 noon.

Whitsunday Regional Council has announced that a multicultural festival will be held on the Bowen Foreshore on May 17.
Council is seeking expressions of interest from the community and cultural groups to participate in the festival.
Applications close Sunday March 30.
The festival will celebrate the diversity of the Whitsundays through traditional dance, cooking, art and activities.

Our team members, Glenn and Cindy recently enjoyed a great day out on the SeaLink Whitsundays Big Island Tour. They enjoyed the guided walks and free time on Whitehaven Beach. As a booking agency, experiences like this help improve our product knowledge. The views from Hill Inlet, as always, were amazing.
The boat was very comfortable, the staff were awesome, and the morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea was all delicious.

Whitsunday Regional Council has announced that the Collinsville Swimming Pool will be closed to the public today, Friday February 28, from 7.30am to 3pm due to a Swimming Carnival- and council has apologised for any inconvenience.

We were unable to attend the Caravan Industry Victoria Caravan and Camping Supershow but we were still well represented. Thank you Fiona Nicholl from Drive Queensland for distributing the Bowen and Collinsville Visitor Guides at the show for us!

IT'S ALMOST LIFT-OFF TIME!
Gilmour Space Technologies has announced a No Earlier Than (NET) launch date of March 15 for Eris TestFlight 1! We are excited as Australia’s first homegrown rocket prepares to make history, launching from Bowen Orbital Spaceport. Keep an eye on their website for further details.

We have welcomed Euro Fusion Cafe back as members of Bowen Tourism and Business and wish the new owners all the very best.
Teresa and Michael are both chefs and have just introduced a new menu. They also offer freshly baked treats, barista coffee and much more while enjoying lovely water views.
The business is open Wednesdays from 7am until 2.30pm and again from 5.30pm until 8pm.
On Thursdays, Fridays, Saturday and Sundays, they are open from 7am until 2.30pm.

IT IS A VERY SMALL WORLD! These visitors from the central coast of NSW (Hellen, Michelle and Michelle) caught up with our team member Cindy when they called in to the Bowen Visitor Information Centre next to The Big Mango this week. They didn't know Cindy, but it turns out they have some common friends as Cindy also used to live on the NSW Central Coast. They had lots to chat about!

We have welcomed two new volunteers! Kim and Ray are originally from the Burdekin and have retired in Bowen after travelling around Australia for more than two years. They loved visiting visitor Information centres on their trip and gained a lot of knowledge. They now want to give back to our community and support travellers to our region. Thanks so much for choosing to give your time freely at the Bowen Visitor Information Centre next to The Big Mango.

We had a group of 33 visitors from the UK call in at the Bowen Visitor Information Centre next to The Big Mango last week. Weather disrupted their plans to visit the Far North, but they made the most of it by spending time in the Whitsundays, including a trip to Bowen.

The business provides pre-purchase building inspections and dilapidation reports for residential clients in the Whitsundays including Bowen, Collinsville, Proserpine, Cannonvale and Airlie Beach. Bowen was well represented last week when the State Minister for the Environment and Tourism, Science and Innovation, Andrew Powell, visited the region.
The Minister was hosted by Tourism Whitsundays to discuss the Government's Destination 2045 Plan - a visionary 20-year tourism plan for Queensland. Our Manager, Leanne Abernethy and the Chair of our Committee, Jenn Honnery, attended the consultation session where several future opportunities for Bowen were discussed.
