We have welcomed Soundzgood Whitsundays as new members of Bowen Tourism and Business. Our manager Leanne is pictured with Max Mitchell who operates the business with his partner Summer. Soundzgood is organising an event on Flagstaff Hill on March 29 with live music and DJ’s as well as food trucks and a bar.

We were so proud to be part of the Whitsunday Regional Council's Australia Day awards ceremony on Sunday. The volunteer Chair of our Committee, Jenn Honnery, was nominated for the Citizen of the Year award and our volunteers were nominated in two categories – Community Group and Volunteer of the Year. Our team members, Leanne and Glenn, also went to the ceremony to support these wonderful people. Thank you for all you do for our organisation and the community.

We have so many interesting people call in to the Bowen Visitor Information Centre next to The Big Mango! Yesterday afternoon, we caught up with actor David Willis who stars in the movie "Life Class 1920" which is currently showing at the Bowen Summergarden Cinemas in Bowen. David, who now lives in Airlie Beach, called in for an ice cream after watching the movie. He is pictured with our volunteer "Fish" and our manager Leanne.

We are noticing an increasing number of people coming to Bowen for a day trip when staying in Airlie Beach. The Fernandes and Dsouza families from Melbourne loved their ice creams and mango sorbets when they called in to the Bowen Visitor Information Centre next to The Big Mango yesterday. The group of 16 have been staying in Airlie Beach and they hired three cars to drive to Bowen and check out the beautiful beaches and other attractions.
