We had some great friends come and help us ear tag all our new lambs recently. Many (dirty) hand made light work!
Our cottage guests enjoyed watching and learning about the process too.

The idea of ‘agritourism’ is an interesting one for us. As a working farm, guests often get to see farm work happening and Dave is great at explaining how we do things.

Pemberton is only 40 minutes from Glenlynn Farm Cottages, and you never know, you might be lucky enough to see some emus playing footy with the Pemberton Southerners on the oval!! 😂

Did you know we have marked trails in the state forest right next to Glenlynn Farm Cottages?
Morning walks with Rusty are my favourite thing about the holidays!

The trails range from 1km to 8km and are suitable for walking, running and riding at all levels, marked with trail markers 🔺.
There are maps and more information in the file in the cottages.

‘Rediscover nature’ 🍃
It is always amazing to watch our guests really enjoying our amazing property; whether it be building cubbies, boating on the lake, walking in the forest or feeding the animals.

There is a buzz word at the moment; ‘rewilding kids’ which is all about getting outdoors, exploring and connecting with nature.

I have loved watching our guests this week really embrace this, switching off from the stresses and monotony of everyday life, enjoying new experiences and making fantastic memories together. 😊

The biggest issue that families have when they stay at Glenlynn Farm Cottages is that no one wants to leave and the kids have a meltdown on departure day!

But don’t worry, I have a plan for you!! On the way home you can tempt (bribe) them with a stop at the most popular tourist destination in Bridgetown, Ooh La Lollipop (chances are you will have already visited during your stay!).

Then stop at Donnybrook Apple Fun park, which is now eve. bigger and better, fun for all ages (I even went on the flying fox yesterday). All of this will slightly soften the blow of leaving, until you come back the next time of course!!

If you come and stay at Glenlynn and you go to the Pottery and try Pip’s soup these holidays, I will be very jealous because I am still trying to get there…😋

Fridgetown is the place that produces more varieties of soup on any one day than possibly anywhere else in the hinterland of the south west.
Pubs, restaurants, cafes, corner shops - we all produce soup with love!!
Today offers Famous Pumpkin Soup, Tom Yum Ghoong (Hot n Sour Prawn) or Curried Cauliflower - all with Artisanal Breads

When you visit Glenlynn Farm Cottages, the chances are that you will see some ‘real farm work’ going on as we are a working sheep farm with 140 breeding ewes.

Yesterday we drafted last year’s lambs with an audience! ‘Farmer Dave’ loves explaining how our farm works to guests and, depending on the time of year, you might see shearing, lamb tagging or many other types of farm work.

Here’s our little Glenlynn noise machines for winter 2024!
Leggy, our newest orphan lamb at 5 days old.
Luna, 2 weeks old.
Louise, 4 weeks old.
All being carefully watched over by Rusty, our 8 month old border collie.

We bottle feed these guys with our cottage guests at 8am and 5.30pm every day in July.

(There’s a clear reason why July is our busiest month of the year for bookings!!)

Yes, sorry, I’ve been a bit absent on social media in June; school reports, eofy and lambing all make for a very busy month!

But now it’s school holidays and we’re fully booked as usual. We’ve got 3 orphan lambs to bottle feed (I’ll introduce you to them in a separate post) and all the old favourites to look after too!

The Puzzle gallery is a very cool interactive puzzle museum and puzzling space right in Bridgetown. It’s a great place to spend an hour or two on a winter day in ‘Fridgetown’!!

A beautiful weekend out exploring and walking with family and friends in amazing weather this weekend! ☀️
Highly recommend the Blackwood River walk in Bridgetown. We parked at the River Park and did a 2 hour loop, walking along the river, up to the Cidery for a refreshing drink then back down to the car at the river through the Main Street.

Love sitting on our verandah looking over this beautiful place that we call home and listening to my amazing high school friend encourage more people to follow their dreams with her podcast ‘The Mischief Movement’.
