Just letting everyone know that Big Leaf Tours is now concentrating on tours to the Gold Coast rather than Lamington National Park.

Lamington remains beautiful, however it is all too difficult continuing to go there and run the business how I would like. Our guests really appreciated free time to explore Lamington at both Binna Burra and O'Reilly's entrances. It is just a shame that National Parks got involved.

Anyway, now Summer is upon us it really seems appropriate to hit the Gold Coast, and that is just what we have done. Our guests have really enjoyed all the beaches where we have taken them, and also the option of choosing where they will have lunch.

Rick Shores Bug Roll ($22) at Burleigh Heads seems a favourite, as does dining with a million dollar view from the Rainbow Bay Surf Lifesaving Club. The salads are fantastic and between $19 - $22. The guests just tell us what they want and we get them there. By the way, all the wonderful guests who have promised to leave a review, please do so. It really helps to raise the Big Leaf Tour profile.

Surfs up. Time to go.

The Scenic Rim Trail car park was a bit of a surprise after Friday's rain. Would not like to tackle the dirt track with my car.
The hiking trail begins at Thornton View Nature Reserve and ends at Cunningham's Gap.
Was so glad to assist with transport of interstate visitors who all agreed the hike was magnificent, albeit freezing cold at night.
So glad Big Leaf Tours could assist the hikers with their transfer requirements, including door to door service, drop off at the trail head, and pick up at Cunningham's Gap. A new hike to add to the list.

The full moon will be spectacular this month as it will be a SUPER BLOOD MOON.
On Wednesday 26 May we are heading up to a high altitude viewing area in Lamington National Park to see the largest full moon in 2021.
It will be a super blood moon - a full moon, super large as it will be as close as it will get to the earth for this year, and the only full lunar eclipse for 2021 - all at the same time!
Departing 6.00pm from the usual spots i.e. Roma Street Platform 10, CBD Hotels, Mt Gravatt.
Bring a torch and of course, warm clothing. Limited seats so book soon so you do not miss out on this one-off special event.
