🐑 Meet 'The Studio Stables at Tarndwarncoort' – where history, creativity, and modern country life intertwine 🐑
📍 Warncoort, South Western Victoria / Gulidjan Country
Farm Studio / Sleeps 2
A beautifully reimagined 1905 horse stable, The Stables Studio is a secluded retreat for one or two, where modern design meets the quiet rhythms of the land. Bathed in natural light, this double-level hideaway features handcrafted textile art, raw materials, and sweeping views of paddocks dotted with grazing polwarth sheep and a weathered stone ruin.
Step outside to the shade of an old oak tree, where long vistas stretch across rolling farmland. Unwind in stillness, find inspiration, or savor world-class dining at Brae and along the Otway Harvest Trail.
With a king-size bed, full kitchen, air-conditioning, a spacious shower, and WiFi, The Stables Studio invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and reconnect with nature.
Tarndwarncoort (Tarndie) is a contemporary working farm with a story that stretches back to 1840 and is recognised by the National Trust as one of Victoria’s oldest surviving homesteads. Home to Australia’s first breed of sheep – the Polwarth – this historic property has been owned and run by the Dennis family for over 180 years and is a testament to generations of woolcraft and farm life.
Today, Tarndie is a place where history and creativity come together. Wander the 400 metre farm trail and browse the farm shop which is open Thursday to Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM or by appointment. Wool lovers can also take part in hands-on workshops, from natural dyeing to the full ‘fleece to garment’ experience.
Come for the wool, stay for the farm experience – where craft, heritage, and slow living come together in a place like no other at this historic farm stay in Victoria.
