Welcome to ‘24 - Hope there’s already some Wonder about!

Speaking of Wonder - that’s the Disney Cruise ship that’s been making it’s way around AUS/NZ waters (and likely your instagram feed) for the last 2 months

We were lucky enough to sail on a quick 2 night itinerary in Nov 2023 Melbourne - Sydney and wanted to share some quick snaps and info with you

✨The Disney Navigator App is best to manage everything for activity reservations / view schedule prior to boarding. Prebooking generally opens 45-60 days prior

✨ Boarding has luggage drop off on day. Just need the luggage tags attached - Easy to drop bags & go for a cheeky bev!

✨ If you are travelling with kids – they require either a Passport, Government Issued Photo ID or Government issued Birth Certificate as valid form of ID to Check in.

✨ Rotational dining. Managed via Disney Cruise App and you can see the allocations. I really liked that they actually keep your same servers / waiters as you change restaurants they follow you. So Charlie knew to get me a Margarita or Rosé when I swanned in 🫡

✨ 2 Bottles of wine or a 6 pack of beer per adult can be carried on 💃🏻

✨ Line ups for Character photos are very long. Go 30 mins prior to opening time and that seems to be easiest way to wait the least. NO real ‘roaming’ characters on ship so this is really one of only Ops to get a character photo

✨ Food is of a good standard - even buffet has some elevated options (Caprese/Zucchini and truffle Mac n cheese) and seafood. For a treat, pre-book yourself into PALO (Adult fine dining) prior through your app

✨ Not JUST for kids - photo above is from a cocktail making class we did which was Muchas divertidas (Spanish led Cocktail master 🍹) - Approx $60 per person and many many spirits were kept high 🙈

✨ Shows are sensational on board and a MUST SEE!

Fiji has done immensely well in recovering from COVID-19 and has worked hard to ensure resorts and facilities are re-opened and guest/staff safety is paramount.

Something a little different today…

🗓 11_11_1918

At 11 am on 11 November 1918, the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. The allied armies had driven the German invaders back, having inflicted heavy defeats upon them over the preceding four months.

In November, the Germans called for an armistice (suspension of fighting) in order to secure a peace settlement. They accepted the allied terms of unconditional surrender. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month attained a special significance in the post-war years and became universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in the war.

The Unknown Soldier
On the second anniversary of the Armistice on 11 November 1920, the commemoration was given added significance when it became a funeral, with the return of the remains of an unknown soldier from the battlefields of the Western Front.

In 1997, Governor-General Sir William Deane issued a proclamation formally declaring 11 November to be Remembrance Day, urging all Australians to observe one minute silence at 11.00am on 11 November each year, to remember those who died or suffered for Australia's cause in all wars and armed conflicts.

On 11 November at 11.00am, we will pause to remember all of the men and women of the Australian Defence Force who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

We will remember them. Lest we forget.

The OA Games: The Virtus Oceania Asia Games 2022 (OA Games 2022) is an international multi-sport competition in the Oceania Asia region for elite athletes with an intellectual impairment. It is being held 5-11 November 2022 in Brisbane, Australia. This event is delivered by Sport Inclusion Australia.

It’s been a real privilege to work with and OA Games here at to organise the travel for and bring in Classifiers and Paralympic Board Members from all around the globe to Brisbane in support of such a wonderful event.
